Can’t get excited over a Zero Star recruit from TX with Zero offers from anyone else.

Remember what Rocky said. “Most offensive lineman recruits have been pushing around weaker kids all of their lives. That changes in college.”
If Hoke and Goff think they can teach this guy some techniques and improve his footwork, then bring him in.

He looks good but he doesn't have any other offers? Strange. He must be way under the radar. Give it some time, if he gets a P5 offer, he may defect.
Oldie Out

would hope that the Aztec OL coach has had an opportunity to evaluate the recruit

would hope that the Aztec OL coach has had an opportunity to evaluate the recruit ********************** Do you type this stuff just to be seen? Can you honestly believe that SDSU would offer an OL scholarship without the OL coach evaluating the recruit?? Geez.

I am not as privy to the HS recruiting as you maybe
Had thought that Coach Horton and another Coach recruit Texas - do they take a good look at the prospect then send the film to the position coach and HC to make the Final offer
Some in the post are saying how good he looks on film - while others are wondering about the competition or why it looks as though he may not have any other offers

It called Texas networking. Friend/contacts tell you about a recruit. You contact school for film and info on players of interest. Horton has a good network in the area. What I like is that he has good size.

So does Coach Horton take a look and then forward the film and other notes to the Aztec Position Coach and Brady and they make the decision after talking with HS coaches in the Texas area .... and the recruit .... ?

So does Coach Horton take a look and then forward the film and other notes to the Aztec Position Coach and Brady and they make the decision after talking with HS coaches in the Texas area .... and the recruit .... ? Couple thoughts. 1. Of course the OL coach has seen tape on the kid. 2. The zero star thing happens all the time. Since he committed to SDSU, he will magically be upgraded to a 2 Star recruit. If he committed or got an offer from a P5 school, he would magically be upgraded to a 3 or 4 Star. In fairness to the recruiting services they can't see ALL the players. If he is late bloomer or didn't go to the camps, it is easy to overlook a player. IMO

would hope that the Aztec OL coach has had an opportunity to evaluate the recruit Stan, sometimes it is better to take a deep breath, give your response some thought, wait a minute, think a second time, then decide if your comments/questions/thoughts are worth psoting. I am willing to be it you just gave it a minute and thought about it, you might stop psoting so many of your messages. Some of the shite you post just have us shaking our heads and thinking WTF.

I was just trying to understand the process - since there were others who wondered how a recruit with out any rating was being offered by SDSU - especially in a talent rich state Texas
Appreciate the explanations on how the recruitment is facilitated
Do realize grading an OL can be quite difficult

I’d prefer if we recruited more guys from the south for the trenches. They are built and just play differently than the athletes the west coast produces in those positions.

I think Parker Baldwin as an out of nowhere WR commit.

Think the current QB Mayden was originally from Texas - also believe Conditioning Coach Adam Hall is a Texan
Getting additional recruits from Texas would assist the Aztecs
