AzWm Should any portion of the Health Care bill be struck down the entire bill would be unconstitutional. You can search on the terms "healthcare bill severability clause" and see where there are numerous blogs etc. that comment on this bill in particular and the term in general.

The court has struck down portions of many other bills. In other cases where the entire bill was struck down they have offered suggestions on how to fix it. An example would be the animal 'stomping' decision.

The court has struck down portions of many other bills. In other cases where the entire bill was struck down they have offered suggestions on how to fix it. An example would be the animal 'stomping' decision. This one is different. They never took the time to insert all the right language to make it as you suggest. If struck donw, it would be back to the drawing board. I think that you would like to see a bill that was better thought out and had a more incremental approach to fixing what is wrong with Health Care. There are many areas where we could all agree that things could get better. Do you know of a single person who does not want waste, fraud, and abuse addressed?
