If the orange imbecile isn't promoting bad candidates and yelling about a stolen election 2 years later, Repubs absolutely pound the Demos in this midterm. When will they learn.

Democrats have a significant advantage in the number of voters registered. If the same percentage of voters registered for both parties came out to vote these elections wouldn't be the competitive, and the Democrats would own the House and Senate in perpetuity. Says pretty much all you need to know about the present day Dem party, Dem party leadership, and elected Dem priorities/actions. I'm one of those registered Dem voters. I beat the rain this morning to get to the polls, where I voted on the propositions (yes on prop 26 and prop 27!). The rest of my ballot was blank. I considered voting R but couldn't quite bring myself to actually do it. I didn't vote. Pretty similar though, I hate Newsom but my disdain for the California Democratic party caused me to not vote instead of vote R for certain races like governor. Dahle made some really good points in his campaign for governor. If I had gotten out to vote I would have either not voted for the governor race or voted form Dahle: "Climate change must be addressed holistically. I believe Sacramento can do better. The Legislature voted down my bill (SB 495) that sought to smartly update California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 to require the California Air Resources Board to count emissions from wildfires into its pollution scoping plan. We have to address massive wildfires that are now causing carbon emissions comparable to the state’s vehicle emissions, not to mention their other harms. Climate is one factor, but even more important is our decision to ignore forest fuels while pretending that leaving forests unmanaged is good for the environment. We must get on a sustainable path." "I will appoint a Public Utilities Commission that gets back to basics — safe, affordable, and reliable power. It is 2022 and we live in the richest country in the world. And yet our high power bills buy us brownouts on hot summer days and catastrophic wildfires sparked by an antiquated, failing power grid. Californians should not be in the dark or on the hook for experimental and unreliable energy sources. The state must move responsibly, and not at the expense of safety and jobs. To have balance we need to make sure there is other generation — natural gas, nuclear, hydroelectric, wind and solar." "After shutting down our state and schools, and spending billions of dollars, our children are masked and the Legislature continues to push for more mandates. A constant stream of changing directives from Sacramento left everyone trying to implement them deeply frustrated and ultimately eroded the trust in state government. More and more data is showing that extended closure in California was devastating to our students." "We need to streamline state programs for vulnerable populations, deregulate to encourage housing development, and start treating housing as a critical human need and not an impact that needs years of CEQA review before approval." Even though some of the things that he says irks me (implying that climate change isn't part of the reason why we've had more wildfires), he's 100% right that we aren't properly managing our forestland in California. Huge wildfires are a huge climate change issue, and they need to be addressed through a change in the way in which we manage our forests. San Diego pays out the ass for electricity - it's all shipped in from Arizona, Vegas and Baja since we shut down the San Onofre plant. 50% of our electricity costs are in energy transmission - shipping and handling on our electricity. It's absurd! We have some of the highest electricity rates in the nation! Now to be fair I do sell solar panels, so our incredibly high electricity rates benefit me - but what I like about Dahle is that he 'gets it'. He gets that there are huge problems in CA, everything from wildfires, to homelessness and our horrible power grid/electricity generation situation. I really dislike that Newsom just strokes Democratic talking points but then doesn't really address the big problems in our state - and then he makes our schools and economy worse with his management of the pandemic! I cannot stand Newsom. **end rant**

The House is officially a tossup. What a night for Dems from a historical perspective. Biden's the most successful midterm president in over four decades.

Hopefully your team won yesterday and you helped someone you voted for increase their net wealth. Members of the House will begin today to start their re-election campaigns which will take up most of their time over the next two years. Their number one item to work on over the next two years is to be re-elected and number two is to find ways to increase their wealth. By the way, that comes from someone you might have just re-elected.

The Red Trickle of 2022; if Republicans take control of the House...they're responsible for the economy and crime...mostly because they ain't doing anything about either...and will be more interested in "gotcha" investigations i.e Hunter Biden...welcome to gridlock.....

Dave Wasserman:
Looks like the Democrats will hold the Senate majority.

Meanwhile, the entire country is watching a small Colorado district to see if Lauren Boebert loses a race she was projected to win in a rout.

The House is going to be extremely narrow, one way or another. Georgia remains large in the Senate, as a 51-49 split is massive. Manchin could be irrelevant at that point in terms of the vote. Either way, Joe Biden had the best midterm of any president in decades.
