I have a friend who sits in the Lexus Club behind home plate. His tickets are going up in a similar fashion. Price of business. And my business may just be moving to Lake Elsinore. It would be cheaper for me to drive to LE, get some sort of ticket plan, and pay for parking, than it would be for me to go to Padres games next year. Maybe not just less expensive, but you'd be getting front row seats for Padres 2030 … and at a tiny fraction of the cost of what it will cost at Petco by the time they all get here.

I had a mini-plan right behind the plate in the first row--which they lowered the price for last year. Since the crowds in the Cal League have dropped over the last few years (even before Covid) I should be able to get that seat again.

The Soto retention discussion just took a very interesting trajectory with today's suspension of Tatis.
He just became Junior without all the baggage …

Why bother? We aren't going anywhere and neither is he.

As the Hader trade has become a disaster, with Bell in a total slump, and with Tatis looking like a career meltdown is possible (him missing the entire 2022 season is ALL on his lack of maturity and bad actions), signing Soto to an extension becomes more important (otherwise our trade deadline deals become a disaster).
