They already have plans to take out our GPS and Mil Sat Com and Recon capabilities if and when we have a war when China invade Taiwan. But a near ubiquitous Starlink communications capability was not unaccounted for. Even with the CCP's plans well known and their past duplicities to inform us, our Pols, Media and Industry get rich as they collude with them and simply hope to "grin" the CCP into being fair trading partners and international citizens. We have a rust belt for a reason and that reality is not lost on the middle class there. It is why the Democrats had to resort to "mules" in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.

They won't have to fire a shot, they can just sit back and watch us implode. Or...maybe "a good guy with a gun" or a 50-year old grandma teacher can stop a citizen with no background in firearms easily buy an AR-15 and body armor snd kill 8 year olds and grocery shoppers. PS: when I was growing up in the mid 60's , there were 2 magazines featuring guns. Outdoor Life and Sports Afield. The articles were about hunting animals. Fast forward 40 years and there are 20 plus magazines (not too mention online) featuring military style weapons, body armor and tactical gear. The emphasis goes from animals to people. Fill in the blank...so and so is going to take away your guns. Great way to make boat loads of money and have politicians at your knees with their mouths in the shape of an O. Thanks redneck nation, the NRA and right wing assholes. Now , we lead the civilized world in mass shooting deaths, and second place isn't even close. Exceptionalism my ass!! |

I haven't been on this board much at all lately and haven't watched 15 seconds of cable news combined in the last two+ years... but from OPs two most recent psots I've seen, I'd put a large bet on one or both of Tucker and OANN currently having "China is the Devil" week.

IMO Russia and China thought the US would jump into Ukraine so then China could invade Taiwan. The US would then try to fight on both fronts and Russia could finally claim victory over the US and China could take over Taiwan. We didn’t because the moment Ukraine happened we started watching China and didn’t care about Russia. We have already begun assessing how to fight a prolonged war in the Pacific. So if there’s a WWIII we’ll be fighting in the Pacific and expect the European powers to deal with Russia.

The good news is that if you were born in the late 50's to early 70's..you experienced the pinnacle of human advancement in science, music, societal change, economic opportunity, concen for the environment etc. The bad news is that if you are still alive today (and I have grandkids) we are likeky to experience darkness that will make 9-11 look like a boyscout picnic. |

underlying issue here is illegal fishing activities and control of fishing grounds. China has been doing this all over the globe for many years. China was giving out free boats and outboards to fisherman on the coasts of many African countries for years. This was an effort to mainly target sharks for the shark finning trade. One result was the Somali pirate situation. Once they fished out the sharks, they went to much bigger prey. Don't know what the answer is, but eventually it is probably conflict. The world's seas are getting hammered every day for dwindling resources. |
