A very nice article about the creator of the Candy Bombers, or to use the official name, Operation Little Vittles. ( Operation Vittles was the overall effort by America and the Brits to supply Berlin with food and supplies until Stalin gave up his blockade of that city, 1948-1949) It's a story that should be known and remembered, especially by those to seem intent on portraying the U.S.A. in the worst possible light. Let's get this straight. The Russians were intent on extinguishing freedom in Berlin. Does this sound familiar? This is historically unprecedented in US history. I thought he worked for the American people, not himself? We've seen what happens when one person controls a country. Why aren't you bothered? I repeat, what does the story of the Berlin Airlift/Candy Bombers have to do with Donald Trump? The answer is that it has NOTHING to do with Trump. Nothing! My god, is it impossible to consider important political/historical issues without dragging Donald Trump into the discussion? The Berlin Airlift happened nearly three-quarters of a century ago! By bringing Trump into the discussion, one depreciates the meaning of that event. I feel somewhat embarrassed to have to repeat this, but apparently I must; I am not a Trump supporter, especially considering his actions following the 2020 election. I will go further; I distrust all politicians. Is that clear enough? AzWm |
