(See Cheney/Haliburton). But now we hear crickets on the corruption of the Congress and staffers relating to trading in stocks from companies whose fate they control. Can you imagine the performance of an index fund that matched the most heavily traded stocks held by congressmen? Reminds me when the Socialist Bernie was chided about all the money he had made as a capitalist and he said "If you write a best-selling book, you can be one (a millionaire) too".

so, Marjorie Taylor Greene made 3.2 million in the first few months of her assignment by putting out the most crazy nutcase conspiracy $#!+ you can imagine. We should all be so lucky (and without any integrity or self respect) by doing absolutely no work whikle putting out pure crap and making ungodly cash.

Calling out the MSM as well. It was Pelosi that made it obvious and bared her soul for all to see. To them, Cheney was seemingly the corrupt one but somehow Pelosi isn't. Yes, a law that could actually deal with the crony capitalism going on there would cross the aisle. I have been to conferences where Military Officers have to be mindful of the few dollars of real cost associated with the lunch being given away (lest it be considered inappropriate) yet our politicians and their families are making millions and millions while they are in the Gov. Where is Harry Truman when you need him? |

Some terrible center corporatist Dem introduced a bill to end stock trading for MOCs and their families. Color me skeptical that a) it will get a vote, and b) it actually has teeth. Nancy has made a large chunk of her fortune trading options, and all the info I've read about the bill strictly says "stocks". But we'll see.

We would not change the corruption of our politicians if we could just restrict "some" selected free speech rights. The worth of the businesses involved in First Amendment protected Speech and Press is in the Trillions. But hey, if we could just stop "Swiftboat" ads, the politicians would be next to "angels"  Restricting the term of service of the pols including limiting their ability to freely invest in the companies whose fortunes they control would help much more IMO. Don't restrict our Constitutional freedoms in an effort to make sure pols don't have to endure opposing political speech. |
