Appreciate all Kaegun did for the program . In addition that he announced after the Bowl game so he could participate and contribute in the game .
Wish him well . Maybe head back to one of the Schools in his home state of Texas .?
With so many backs was difficult to give him as many touches as he may have wanted . He did get to return kickoffs also so that may also add to his value in the Portal
Also great to hear that he graduated !
Do think that the Aztecs have some guys Armstead , Davis... that will be able to contribute in a big way next season

I always like him and would have loved to see what he could have done as a featured back for a couple games. Hope he goes somewhere he gets a legitimate chance to do so. He ran hard.

He deserved more carries. This honestly. Do not understand why we didn't do a Greg Bell/Williams combo instead of Bell/Bell. Chance was never impressive and Williams style would have complimented Bell more.

C. Bell is coming back and that's fine. No, I don't want him as the starter, but he definitely provides quality depth. Runs hard, blocks well and isn't fumble prone.
I'm happier about the return of Byrd. At least that is if the coaches can just figure out a way to get him the ball in space.

Always liked Kaegun as a versatile player that he was. As a running-back he was always able to add yardage after getting hit. Wish he had started a couple of games just se have given him a true chance. One of my favorite players over the last couple of years. It too bad State so loaded at this position. I wish him well and hope he is a starter next year.

After about the 4th game of the season, Greg Bell performed like a 4th string back but continued to be the featured back. For the season:
Greg Bell avg'd 4.5ypc Keagan Williams avg'd 4.5 ypc Chance Bell avg'd 4.7 ypc Jordan Byrd avg'd 6.6 ypc
During the last 8 games of the season, Greg Bell avg'd a very pedestrian 3.8 ypc
So why was GB the featured back when he had the lowest ypc and also fumbled more than all other backs combined?
I often wonder if this staff is capable of recognizing talent. Look at the QB carousel as well.

Every team stacking the box against the run! Greg Bell did a great job against an extra man or two. Wearing down the opponent is the name of the AZTECS game.

Bell's season I'm sure was below his expectations over all, but he did also have a pretty severe injury to his shoulder that affected him for several games. All of our RBs were solid, and any of the top four could have been starters - though Byrd of course may have had durability issues if he had too many carries.

He got us tough YAC (yards after contact) when he got his carries. A quality back who should be starting somewhere else.
Oldie Out
