Should Ariaza stay and work on inside 20 yard line punts and increase value to get into 1st or 2nd round? His Aussie punts often landed in end zone. Little risk of injury staying another year.

Hard to have a better season then Matt had this season - but do agree he could work on his kicks inside the 10 and even FG's
Also have no clue if he and the family would enjoy having him play in the new facility . Do understand that the NFL is solid money and the dream for every player .
Will be an interesting decision for him .

Personally and selfishly I'd like to see him stay another year. But if he were my kid I recommend he grab the NFL job and money as soon as possible.

He has zero reason to stay. He’s the best player at his position in the country. He can’t increase his draft stock in any significant way by staying. NFL teams know what they are getting with him…a punter who they won’t have to worry about for 10-15 years and who will probably make several pro bowls. Staying an extra year doesn’t improve that. Maybe he stays cause he likes college and wants to play a year in the new stadium. But if he stays it won’t be to help his draft status. Staying will also cost him a year of missed NFL salary so that also factors into the decision.

Kiper has him as the 4th best punter; PFF has him graded 13th. He needs to improve his release time & hang time something, along with becoming an above average PK, could have happened with another year. But it's all moot now. All it takes is 1 team to like you so hopefully he finds that team!

The 49ers need a punter who can KO into the end zone without a return. Mitch Wishnowsky has a weak leg and was a 4th round pick. I hope Araiza lands with them.

But Araiza was KO for touchbacks using the COLLEGE distance! Who knows how far he’d need to KO in the pros? What? …. Okay I’ll go back to sleep

Whatever kinks that arazia needs to work on can be done on a nfl team. His stock will never be higher. He will go to the pros as a punter and focus on that. He is not a kicker at the pro level.

Many of their punters KO without a return.

I'm assuming all the guys at PFF are "assclowns" as well? Yea, he can work on his deficiencies at the next level but you have to get there first. There are only 32 jobs, and they don't typically put punters on the practice squad. But all it takes is 1 team.

You are saying he should come back one more year. I just think that if he can fix his flaws now then go pro. I am sure he has hired an specialist to work on his punting and he is working on his flaws right now before the draft. The next big test for him will be the combine and pro day at sdsu.
