I'm watching the MAC Championship game on ESPN, and the teams playing are Northern Illinois and Kent St. But, what really surprised me was the QB's name playing for No. Ill. So, the name of the QB starting for No. Ill. just happens to be Rocky Lombardi. Great name and I wonder if he is any relation to the late, great Vince Lombardi of the NFL? He could be a great great grandson or great nephew I don't know for sure.
But what a name, first name just like the great coach we had here for 12 years, and then the last name like the NFL Hall Of Fame coach. And, to add to that his number is No.12, which many of the QB's who won the SuperBowl had as a number. He is 6'3", 217 lbs., and a grad transfer from Mich. St. He played six games for Michigan St. last year and completed 53.5 % of his passes and threw for 1090 yards.

Probably named after Rocky Marciano and Vince Lombardi. All Italians and he's from an Italian family.
