Looked it up. Former Auburn QB. Looks like he was good at times but pretty inconsistent.

He’s easily better than any QB we’ve had in a long time…

another QB that will not becoming to SDSU! Again… it is all about dominos… word is he’s coming back to the west Fully understanding what you are saying but SDSU just doesn't have the things that todays QB's want in a system. They have an older coaching staff with very little proven success in running a progressive offense (ever) in their 20-30 years of coaching (head coach, OC, QB, RB's coaches). This program needs some new blood in the offense to attract better QB's.

I can’t argue that, as I am on record as stating that State should look for a new OC, like Joe Brady or the WKU OC… But I still think there is a shot they get an experienced QB

I also wonder how these High School QB's are going to develop under Coach Heck, he has no real history of D1 QB development and or OC success. Giving someone the task to solve the Aztecs OC passing game, QB development and improve the WR /TE production is a serious task I think it needs to start with the QB coach, I know they are the same at SDSU and that most teams have OC/QB coach as the same. I feel that at the level the Aztecs are at right now they would be better off having the OC and QB coach separate. The problem now is that they both need so much work it's would be a monumental task for almost anybody let alone someone the Aztec could afford. This brings to thinking maybe Heck goes to OC/WR and they bring in a solid QB (younger) Coach that could right the ship and coach up JUST the Qb's while learning how to be a "FOOTBALL COACH" from the older guys. I really do not have anything against Hunkie but push comes to shove, it is either Heck, Horton or Hunkie you make the choice. What's more important Heck and Hortons recruiting and experience or Hunkie's player development and production at the WR position?

Does anyone really think Brady will remove his friend Heck as OC / QB coach ?
Maybe if SDSU could get a Mentor from a retired person in the area or a former QB that would be coming in a Grad Student QB coach - seems more likely with the Aztec budget and Brady not tossing Heck under the bus
Brady will very likely say Haskell , Mayden are the future - under Heck's supervision . Also will see which transfer fits the Aztec plans - translation - what QB is willing to come to SDSU - ? do not expect any big names or highly rated guys . Until the Aztecs show on the field they actually want to have their QB as the focal point of the offense .
Think it was Baby steps or crawl this past year - will we start to see the next stage - ? Only time will tell
Do hope that the coaches try to use a QB that does throw and run the ball in the Bowl game - to display at least the start of a transition in that direction .

I would actually think we'd have a chance at someone like this, as it's still close enough to Arizona where he's from. As a transfer QB you'd have to somewhat be thinking "they were a QB away, I can take them there, and I can do it to open up a brand new stadium".

I'm guessing UCF. His former coach Gus Malzahn is currently the head coach at UCF. Maybe, and he can play two more years if he wants to play as a super senior… He’s been a Top 30 QB for the last two years, and can move around in the pocket and can run the RPO…
