This guy has only had TWO good seasons out of ten. His numbers over the last three years are TERRIBLE.
WTF??? Just a warm body for the rotation??

Aztec related, obviously. Happy for him, perhaps the Pads see something the experts don't. I wish this Aztec the best!

If he can stay healthy enough to make 25 starts, he could be productive. Petco helps pitchers alot, and he had some damn good seasons in Cincy's hitters park. Hopefully he becomes a solid 4th starter for us.

He will be looking to sign a one year contract to get his value back up. He is from San Diego and San Diego State and Petco Park is great for a one year "get your value back up" year. JoshJones1 That would be a great idea, I'd take the former Patrick Henry High product. Could be a good career change for him.

I get the feeling he'll have a 2010 Jon Garland-type season at Petco. Considering he never had any business pitching at hitter-friendly Great American Ballpark in CIN as he's mainly a flyball pitcher, I don't see why everyone is so down on him. Switching to Petco might just be what he needs to have a bit of a rejuvenation. I'm not saying that he's going to win a CY or anything, but why hate on a local kid, Aztec, flyball pitcher coming to a pitcher's park on a one year, no lose situation? I'm as cynical a Padre fan as anyone, but let him pitch a game in Petco before you diss on him.

I'm sure we'll be picking up Zito as well, as soon as the Gs cast him off after another 5.00 ERA start this season...
