The Obama administration has a certain view of what is appropriate in the area of interrogating terrorist suspects. Some favor those techniques, others believe that they put the U.S. at a disadvantage. Here is one view based on recent administration announcements. Especially interesting is the case of El-Sayid Nosair, one about which I was totally ignorant until I read this piece. I remain confused about why we have not developed a more coherent policy towards this kind of terror. I do not understand where Holder is coming from so to speak. You would think that over time and the repeated acts of terror that we would have forged better policy.

You would think that over time and the repeated acts of terror that we would have forged better policy. I am not one who believes Obama and his followers hate America and want to see it harmed. I do believe that he comes from the school of thought that largely blames this country (and G.W. Bush) for many of the world's ills. That being the case, they are really poorly equipped to fashion effective anti-terror policies. Specifically, they do not like the idea of calling this a war. I think it is a war, albeit a war unlike any we have ever fought. If one does not consider what we are in to be a war, one will not be able to respond appropriately. Think of this analogy. If you are sick, but the doctor decides that the problem is psychological when you really are suffering from cancer or some other physical malady, it's doubtful that he is going to be able to help you.
