Would love to get this kid.
Would also love to target whoever Fresno State is going after, or any of the good MW schools frankly.
Always amazes me how many teams in the conference has better quarterbacks (but rated 2-3 star recruits) then we do.

Nevada and Fresno both have a good reputation for developing QB's so even if we offer until we develop a reputation as a school that has their QB as the focal point of the offense - recruiting those guys may not matter - action speakk a lot more then words

Let’s make the offer already and give ourself a chance at getting a legitimate ball thrower. Our current throwers are at 50% and recruiting a kid that’s at 70% Is 6’8” zero interceptions with a cannon arm, makes me way too giddy. Just look at our last game. We still have wide outs running unobstructed to have the QB miss wide open guys by a wide margin.

He passed for SDSU.

Scripps Ranch High advanced to the state championship game and Leatherwood had a great game with their starting RB, Jalen Shaw, injured. Jax was consistently throwing deep bombs right on the money, ended the game 18-26 with 434 yards passing and 5 TDs. He had 81 and 84 yard TD passes. I believe his season completion % is over 70%.

More competition is good, the cream rises to the top.
At 6ft 6, we haven't had anyone that tall since Hoke tried to recruit QB Tyler Bray but lost his commitment to the Vols.
Oldie Out

Leatherwood rallied Scripps Ranch to a state title today. Scripps led for all but one possession when Wilcox Chargers scored to take a 28-24 with about 2 minutes left. A Wilcox holding call nullified their interception. Scripps then drove the field for a game winning TD with 27 seconds left and a state championship. Thanks to Maxpreps website for game details. Note: San Diego went 3 for 3 in state title game as Scripps Ranch, Cathedral Catholic and Mater Dei all won to claim state championships. Well done!!!!!!

www.sandiegouniontribune.com/sports/high-school-preps/story/2021-12-11/scripps-ranch-state-championshipScripps Ranch wins first state championship with late touchdown
After a dominating first half, Scripps Ranch trailed Santa Clara Wilcox by four with 2:17 to play in the State 2-A championship game at Saddleback College. Following the kickoff, Scripps Ranch went no huddle as junior quarterback Jax Leatherwood led his team on an 11-play, 80-yard drive, scoring with 27 seconds to play on a 10-yard pass to Dean Pauley to give the Falcons an improbable 31-28 win. The victory gave the San Diego Section a sweep of three championship games at Saddleback College. Mater Dei Catholic won the 2-AA title on Friday and Cathedral Catholic took the 1-AA championship later that night. ... Leatherwood completed 21 of 37 passes for 337 yards and four TDs, giving him 52 TD passes for the season. The San Diego Section record is 57 by EJ Kreutzmann of La Jolla Country Day in 2019. Kreutzmann is now a linebacker and baseball player at Columbia. Ty Buchner of Bishop’s, who is now at Notre Dame, had 53 TD passes in in 2019 and Braxton Burmeister of LJCD, who is now at Virginia Tech, had 51 in 2016. “I never even thought about 50 TDs, but that’s pretty darn cool,” Leatherwood said. Conor Lawlor caught three of Leatherwood’s TDs passes Saturday, covering 35, 62 and 76 yards. All were in the first half as Scripps raced out to a 21-0 lead.

Major question the better he plays - is he likely to get the P5 offers that other successful QB 's have gotten ?
Would also be great if the Aztecs were able to capitalize on the Success that Mater Dei has accomplished both on the field and attracting fans . SDSU would really appreciate a bigger following in the South Bay areas .

It will all come down to whether or not he wants to go away to school. Hope he has a girlfriend who ends up at SDSU. Sometimes it's the tiniest details that make a decision.

Totally agree does he want to stay and play here at home or want a P5 school ?
Also how successful is Haskell this season ? Does OC Heck have decent plans to develop QB's ?
