Nce to see that Haskell got in for some experience, even if it is against an FCS team, Defensively, this is a team worthy of being in the top 25. Offensively, well no we aren't. Special teams is good on both sides. Hopefully we can fix the offense. We have some good skill people and a TE who will likely get drafted. We just need more from the QB position. This post could be said after everygame for last 10 years.

U-T reports Gregg Bell with broken collarbone. Don't know when or if he comes back. I'm thinking we need Brookshire back and healthy as I haven't been impressed with Johnson. Not sure I want Johnson leading us into conference play. But whoever is the qb we're going to need a bit more imagination in our playcalling.

My internal clock is all screwed up, with it now getting dark earlier and the aztec game finished up so early.
I could really get use to the aztec games being played earlier then 7:30, this was a nice change of pace.

Nice win fellas...... My feeling going in...If Lucas played well he might get the nod going forward.... I thought his performance was a D+/C-!!!!! more D+ then C-, not that much to say positive about his play. Yes, the C- is generous.....he looked ill prepared for today's game.....our team played well in spite of his apathy!

The defense was not very good in the first Q - also let them just march down the field at the end of the second Q . This was not a very good team - will need much better performance against Nevada , Fresno , BSU ...
Lucas does not have a strong arm . So it would seem to be a much better game plan to have him throw short to medium routes and let our guys make plays and yardage after the catch . He under threw numerous guys .
Next game we play Rocky and you know he will have a lot of things planned to stop us = also not sure how much we can count on G. Bell going forward so better start OC 's game planning now . We have guys with speed - just get them into open space and let them make plays .

The shoulder injury is as yet not diagnosed , according to Kenny as of 10 pm tonite.

I am a little confused… after a little slow start the Aztecs completely controlled the game.
Johnson had two really bad passes, one the floated interception, which was a really bad decision… the second was the easy miss of Shavers. It may have been a TD. (An aside, I would be pissed if I were Shavers, he has been open for big plays all year and hasn’t been hit once)
Other than that, Johnson was on target and showed the ability to hit the short timing routes to get guys into space and force the defense to play with a lighter box, I know it was Towson, but that was encouraging.
That was four straight games with the OL providing dominant run blocking.
* Shavers is a player and could be a big deal if we can get him the ball. * RBs are fierce, we need Greg Bell, but other backs are solid * Noah Avinger has looked shaky this year, and in the first half, but showed improvement in the 2nd half. * Haskell, it was one series and one pass, but the pass was spun and he looked elusive when running as well as composed. Again, just a few minutes but he looked great. * Araiza is crazy good, wow * Doug D has done a great job with the STs, Towson had a nice return, but there was a clear hold right at the point of attack that wasn’t called, but another ST TD on the block and another drive starting at the Towson 30 based on pressure on the punter and a nice return by Byrd.
Super happy to have the bye week, let the guys get healthy and ready for UNM.

I wish Jordan Palmer did all our games Or better yet, can he be our QB Coach/Coordinator?

I wish Jordan Palmer did all our games Or better yet, can he be our QB Coach/Coordinator? His HS coach was the QB guru who founded & ran Elite 11 before ESPN took took over. That was Palmer's base of knowledge he's only built on. The legendary Bob Johnson who once got Mark Sanchez to cry during a game after he threw a TD pass, Johnson lit him up for hitting the wrong read. Sanchez respected Johnson & his sons knowledge so much, they were his off-season QB coaches during his college & pro career.

Somebody please get Shavers the ball!
He's open and either ignored or missed with a bad pass or a PI happens.
The QB who develops chemistry with him, needs to be QB1.
Also, is it me or did Penny find himself earning reps with the 1s next game?

I wish Jordan Palmer did all our games Best analyst we've had on a broadcast in some time. He's maybe the top QB guru on the West Coast now, for private tutoring, and it showed. I had several buffering issues, including one that didn't resolve itself until I refreshed the page, but my internet has been shaky for awhile. Dude is a football geek. Just an endless encyclopedia. A lot of QB guru, Bob Johnson's former QBs are now QB gurus on the west coast at various levels. Palmer helps the guys transitioning to the NFL. There's guys who run HS camps too. I think that's the neatest things about coaching. The coaching tree and how far it extends. I can't name a single HS football coach out of Johnson's former QBs, but a ton of QB gurus who have a ton of their products play college ball and some eventually end up in Palmer's camp.

Wonder how much was them looking good or the Towson defense just being worn out?

Yes, did you watch the first quarter? Fumble on first play....Poor throw on interception with no velocity....1 carry for -9 yards....showed little interest to choose his own number on the option.....apathy, disinterest, over confidence....define it as one may....

Penny was fantastic, the game was over so maybe the Towson DBs we’re playing soft, but he was able to get separation amd showed speed.

The team looked apathetic to start the game, not just Johnson… but after the first Towson score he was fine as was the team.

From the guys who attend practices, they said the catching part was holding Penny back. Dude could be a legit deep-threat if this ends up being a sign of things to come.
