Defense is rather ordinary. Well, let's recall what a powerhouse New Mexico State is. Exactly, which is why I don't need to wait until next week to know where our football program is at...it is in a serious downward spiral. Not exactly where you want to be with a new stadium on the way. I admit I was happy when Hoke came back, but now I regret that. I am starting to think that the first time Hoke was here the improvement in the football program had more to do with the assistant coaches we had at that time than Hoke. New Mexico State is a perennial doormat and they are beating us at home....disgusting. From what I have already seen tonight I know there is absolutely no change in our crappy offense, and I know the following: 1. Forget all this talk about being invited to the Pac 12 or Big 12 or AAC....we have nothing to offer any of them. Get use to being in the MWC, because we are going nowhere. None of the aforementioned conferences want SDSU....and for good reason. 2. Forget a season record of 7-5 or better. It will be more like 6-6 or worse....probably worse. Totally unacceptable. The university should be more concerned about the current condition of the football program than what our mascot name is. |

Maybe we can hope, pray, cross our fingers, find a 4 leaf clover, gold at the end of the rainbow, find a unicorn, etc. that maybe we are just using 1/10 of the playbook and playing coy thinking about our next big game.

Seriously! Big 12 my azz, we can't even compete in the Big Sky! I am not going to jump off a cliff quite yet as this is the first game. I am going to be making some serious judgements with the second half adjustments. Coaching staff failed to make second half adjustments last year. not holding my breath. One Trick Ponies, by definition, can't make adjustments. |
