Geez, that's pretty harsh. What do you think would have happened to them 100 years ago?

Publicly proclaim we should end solitary confinement nationwide regardless of crime and I'll read your articles. I'm not sure whether solitary confinement should be totally banned. I can imagine that there are cases in which that punishment is unjustly used. On the other hand, I can also imagine that there are cases of really bad people attacking other inmates without cause, failing to follow reasonable instructions, etc. What do you do with them? As for the articles I linked, they are not MY pieces. As I indicated in the thread intro, they quote a number of people, most notably Democrats. We want the criminal justice system used in an impartial way. We do NOT want it used as a way to punish political opponents. There is the possibility that solitary has been used in this case in just such a biased way. In any event, please read the articles. Remember, I did not write them. AzWm

AzWm There's a difference between solitary confinement and protective custody. PC is when inmates need protection from other inmates. Solitary is cruel & unusual punishment carried from the Dark Ages. Also, in what way is this punishing political opponents? So far there are 0 national-level Republicans who incited the coup being held responsible. What you're witnessing is a clown show in a kangaroo court for optics so we can pretend we did something when we did far less than Germany did to Hitler after his failed coup. BTW, how did light sentencing work out for Germany? We're merely making a public spectacle of punishing the f'n unimportant pawns.
