Gundo what does the AAU circuit look like for this summer
Would guess the Aztecs will have plenty of PT for a 5 for the 2023 -24 season

I haven't seen any tape on this guy but I can't imagine him being a 5 with that body type. Perhaps a Jalen McDaniels type player at the 4?

Welp, Aztecs not in his top 5, he’s down to five schools: UCLA, USC, Texas Tech, Arizona, and UNLV. Williams received scholarship offers from Washington, Nevada, California, San Diego State, Xavier, LMU, and others.

If they want him he's theirs without a doubt.

I don't get kids picking a perennial loser (unlv) over a perennial winner (sdsu). Perhaps the appeal of the bright lights on the vegas strip?

I don't get kids picking a perennial loser (unlv) over a perennial winner (sdsu). Perhaps the appeal of the bright lights on the vegas strip? Several reasons. New coach, system, great facilities, recruiting him harder and making him a priority, mix of players at his position on the team, etc. Plus, good players believe they can lift their team and become a winner, and its not like UNLV was that bad last year. For all we know he wasn't even a priority at SDSU.

For high level college athletes (I.e. those with professional aspirations), fans care more about winning than the player much of the time. Exposure, playing time, playing freedom, and scheme/fit.

This kid’s recruiting certainly picked up over the past few months. He has some blue blood programs on his dance card.

They had that class last year (Zaon Collins and Arthur Kaluma) until Zaon's vehicular manslaughter (innocent until proven guilty). UNLV is one of the few G5s that can recruit with the big boys. Let's hope they don't put things together too soon!

Aside from us they're the MWC program best equipped to do so and it would help raise our profile even further. Rising tides.....

All of the programs that he's interested in have the NIL support to pay him big money...
In fact...UNLV will indeed become a basketball (and potentially football) powerhouse very quickly and have the potential to be the next in line to join a P5 conference due to NIL money...
Word on the street is that a 5-star recruit (basketball or football) now commands $500K-$2M per season in NIL money...this is "chump change" for big money places like Vega$...expect more big names heading to the places where big $$ from alumni / community is the rule

No mention of the Aztecs. UNLV, USC & UCLA the focus. “So far I’ve seen UNLV but it wasn’t an official, took an official to USC and now I will take my official to UCLA and make my decision.”
