would hope that they should be able to walk over to the scorers table and tell them the number of the player who made the foul - this is the lamest rule in basketball and should be changed - Because 40 available numbers for 15-16 players isn't enough? We need 100?

How about having the guilty player raise their hand like the used to. Makes it easier for the fans too. In addition, the TV announcers don't always identify the player who fouled and it would be easier to see who it was on TV.

What does any of this have to do with future Aztec Chad Baker His prior # being an apparently retired jersey in #44 Michael Cage, and apparently the need to give him 90 other numbers to choose from vs. only 30?

please state intelligent reasons that a player should not be able to choose any numbers 0-99 - From the NCAA site: "The NCAA and most amateur competitions mandate that only these numbers be used because it eases nonverbal communication between referees, who use fingers to denote a player’s number, and the official scorer. In college basketball, single-digit player numbers are officially recorded with a leading zero." They went this route for a reason. Please state an intelligent reason that players need 100 numbers to choose from with only 15-16 suited up? Football, with up to 100 players, sure. But you don't need it in basketball.

It is an outdated idea that should be changed . Very simple for the ref to walk over to the scorers table and say who the foul is on .
Has the NCAA ever changed a rule - think so .
It would open up the amount of numbers available for guys to choose from .

They are exploring a bunch of potential rule changes. That's definitely not one of them. www.aseaofblue.com/2021/4/14/22384038/college-basketball-news-rumors-rule-changes-2021-22-season-fouls

According to the media guide ... three numbers have been retired #15, #22 (Milton Phelps) and #44. Now just because a number is retired doesn't mean it's unused. Ben Perez used #15 in 2016. A handful of people have used #22 most recently, Malachi Flynn No one has used #44 since Cage. I didn't notice this before the interview. It would have been a great question to ask. I believe Markee White wore #44 during the '02-'03 season. According to the media guide, Markee White wore #40, but your memory could be better than the guide. (No sarcasm)

when you have opportunity ask Chad if he will be here for summer sessions ? Understand the coaches really want all the guys here for at least the second one . But going to the first session would be also be helpful for all the newer players and maybe the freshmen from last year who did not get the benefit of them last year . Also helps lighten the load of credits they need to have during the regular semesters .
