On Joe Biden's first day in office, he killed the XL Pipeline. In my opinion, that was a bad decision. Of course I am willing to consider alternate opinions. Here's how I see this issue.
First, the pipeline project went through, if I am correct, five different reviews by the Feds and was given the green light.
Second, Biden's decision cost 11,000 jobs.
Third, transporting oil by truck or rail is much riskier than by pipeline.
Fourth, if Canada for whatever reason decides not to send the oil south, they can always sell it to the Chinese. China is eager to buy the oil and is, let's face it, is more interested in providing power to its people than fighting climate change.
Fifth, if the POTUS had reservations about the pipeline, he could have raised those reservations and requested a more measured process for review of the project.
Sixth, it's clear to me that Joe Biden is, at best, only a partial free agent. The far left, sure that we have only a short time to prevent humanity's downfall, is calling the shots. The U.S.A. could disappear tomorrow and the result would be only a very marginal reduction in greenhouse gasses.
Here's something else. John Kerry, who is a multi-millionaire, essentially gave the finger to the pipeline workers concerned about losing their jobs. Let them build solar panels, he said. Well, most of those jobs are in China. We'll create jobs here in the U.S.A. was his implication. Okay, but how many months or years will it take to create those jobs? Does Kerry not understand that those who lost their jobs don't have millions in the bank to tide them over till the new jobs come on line? Oh, yes, there is also the fact that solar panel jobs pay, at best, half what those pipeline jobs pay.
Final analysis: Biden is (or is forced to be) an authoritarian instead of the centrist we were promised.
Extra analysis: Kerry is the let-them-eat-cake kind of elitist who disdains those who use Walmart mustard instead of Grey Poupon and use their hands to eat lunch instead of Tiffany knives and forks.

AzWm A false half-truth, I assume you got from yet another online post taken as gospel: A Facebook post: Says that "By revoking the Keystone pipeline permit, Biden is destroying 11,000 jobs.”
PolitiFact's ruling: Half True
Here's why: President Joe Biden spent his first day in the White House signing a spate of executive orders aimed at undoing the policies of the Trump administration. One of them sparked outrage on Facebook over its effect on American jobs.
On Jan. 20, Biden signed an order that revoked the permit for the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline. In a Facebook post published the same day, one user said the move would cost thousands of jobs.
"By revoking the Keystone pipeline permit, Biden is destroying 11,000 jobs and roughly $2 billion in wages," the post says. "Democrats couldn’t even get through Day 1 without killing jobs for middle class Americans."
The post was flagged as part of Facebook’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed.
We’ve seen several similar posts offer other figures for how many jobs were lost as a result of Biden’s executive order, ranging from 12,000 to 83,000. So we wanted to take a closer look.
TC Energy Corp., the Canadian company that owns the Keystone XL pipeline with the Alberta government, has said more than 1,000 people are out of work because of Biden’s executive order. The 11,000 and $2 billion figures cited in the Facebook post are estimates published by the company, but most of the jobs would be temporary.www.statesman.com/story/news/politics/politifact/2021/01/22/keystone-pipeline-jobs-lost-joe-biden-executive-order-cancel-fact-check/6673822002/

That's the nature of construction work. Those temporary jobs are full-time for the length of the project. Workers are still going to have to make up for the lost days of labor. More importantly, there is no good reason, as I see it, to abruptly cancel the project. AzWm
