Do we have an update on when general seating tickets will become available? I went through the presentation in April. I was told the non-premium seats will go on sale in September. Higher priority first, of course.

Higher priority first, of course. That’s what I was told as well (yesterday)… the guy I talked with said they’d sold about 70% of the club seats. I think that might be a little inflated… but if it’s true, then good for them!

Did you ask him where he got that information? Like the old saying goes, "You'll never know unless you ask."

Did you ask him where he got that information? Like the old saying goes, "You'll never know unless you ask." I didn’t… by the time we got to that point in the conversation, I think he was satisfied that I really wasn’t interested in the club seat option and probably just wanted to get off the call and make his next phone call. I’d already been to the experience about a week or two after it opened, so I suspect they are at this point just cold calling anyone on their list that hadn’t yet made up their mind … or at least those who hadn’t yet said, “thanks, but no thanks”.

Don’t be bitter and just get cheaper seats. We aren’t playing in a 72k seat dinosaur stadium any more. Don’t get mad that stadium economics aren’t like they were in the 60s just come join those of us in reality that are damn excited to be playing in one of the nicest collegiate stadiums in America. Sounds good. I hated that old stadium. Might as well have been a mile away with binoculars. Let's see how it goes. It should be fun. That's exactly how I usually went to view games at the Old "Q", or whatever you want to call it. I had season seats in the field level about 19-20 rows up. My eyesight got worse so I took binoculars and I could view close ups of the players on the field. Worked for me.

That does not surprise me. I have been a basketball season ticket holder since 1997, but have only attended a few football games over the years. I have mostly watched Aztec Football on TV. The whole experience at the Q did not excite me. I decided that I wanted to give back to the university and the SD community by getting premium seats at the new staduim. I am at a point in my life where I am glad that I can do that. I totally see the vision for SDSU football and the athletic program. I would love to see a packed stadium every Saturday with the high energy that I saw in my undergraduate years in the Big 10. When I came to SDSU for graduate school, I was more than disappointed in the lack of energy for SDSU sports. Fisher changed it for Basketball, and this stadium will change it for Football. I am guessing we have a lot of other Aztec fans that are finally ordering season tickets because of the stadium and the impact it will have on our sport programs and SDSU. I am one of them. With that in mind, I do hope that the tickets that our outside of the premium area will be affordable for everyone. I have been told they would be, but have not seen prices.

Good post RB. I understand your position and I am sure you will enjoy attending the games. I have had season tickets since 92 and have rarely missed a game. The cost of my continuing in Club seats is prohibitive but I do hope to be able to afford non premium seating going forward.

I finally gave in and joined the club. The East Club. More than I thought I'd spend, but then I'm spending a lot more than I ever thought I would for basketball season tickets.
I'm even more eager now than I was to see the new stadium open.

Agreed - I have my UofA alum buddy (perhaps you've met him at Aztecaritas in Vegas?) flying into town for it, should be epic!
