This piece is by Paul Krugman, and when you are dealing with Krugman you must have your collectivism-detector on high alert, since he seems always to prefer more and more government intervention in the economy. Still, he makes good comments here on a crisis that absolutely affects Europe and, by the way, the USA. On that latter point, Krugman does not mention that the IMF, which is largely funded by you and me, will put up a lot of the money going to help Greece get out of the mess it got itself into. www.nytimes.com/2010/05/07/opinion/07krugman.htmlAzWm

I read the article and was primed to fill in the pieces that Krugman could be expected to miss given his political and economic views. He pretty much covered the issue.
I am surprised that the Euro has lasted this long with so many different interests at work. Krugman should have expanded a little bit the part of the huge underground economy in Greece and the idea that Greek politics stinks worse than most any place you can think of.
