Are you referring to Dr Atlas - a former Fellow at a Stanford Conservative Think Tank . He is a Radiologist whose main medical functions were Reading X rays , CT scans .... from 1998- 2012 . After that worked for Republican candidates and most recently as Fox News "Medical Contributor " before being hired for the Trump Covid staff - Most of the other Doctors/Scientists on the committee do Not agree with his opinions but he has become the one that the President prefers to listen to and lead person .
One other thing we forget to mention is the physical and mental strain on Doctors , Nurses , EMT 's and every other workers in Hospitals or clinics ...from Covid . Also the families for those people and even those that do survive and possibly future affects . Could also be an additional scare for those concerned about Medical Bills . Or if they do survive could they be classified as " Pre Existing Condition " moving forward IF health insurance coverage gets changed or being abled to be covered by parents for younger patients .
This is a deadly situation that affects a wide variety of people

And, yet, COVID is now the third-leading cause of death in the U.S., behind only heart disease and cancer. I know it's fun and hilarious to minimize this pandemic, but that stance grows more untenable every passing day. Just so you know. Leading Causes of Death (CDC Fast Stats) Data are for the U.S. 2017 (I inserted up-to-date COVID stat.) Number of deaths for leading causes of death Heart disease: 647,457 Cancer: 599,108 COVID: 210,000 (To date. Univ. of Washington model predicts 350k+ by Dec. 31, 2020.) Accidents (unintentional injuries): 169,936 Chronic lower respiratory diseases: 160,201 Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases): 146,383 Alzheimerās disease: 121,404 Diabetes: 83,564 Influenza and pneumonia: 55,672 Nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and nephrosis: 50,633 Intentional self-harm (suicide): 47,173 Here's info distributed by the CDC in August. Aug. 18, 2020 -- The COVID-19 pandemic has spread so rapidly since the first U.S. case was reported Jan. 20 that itās now the third-leading cause of death in the country, Thomas Frieden, MD, former director of the CDC, told CNN. "COVID is now the No. 3 cause of death in the U.S. -- ahead of accidents, injuries, lung disease, diabetes, Alzheimer's, and many, many other causes," Frieden said. The CDC says heart disease and cancer are the first- and second-leading causes of death. The coronavirus has caused more than 170,000 deaths in the United States and has been taking more than 1,000 lives weekly for several weeks, Frieden said. "Last week, Americans were eight times more likely to get killed by COVID than were Europeans," he said. The number of deaths -- and cases -- in the United States may be undercounted because not enough people are tested, experts have said. And others like the researcher at Stanford Hospital feel like the deaths are way over counted, with the likely 2nd and 3rd Comorbidity being COVID and it still being counted as a Covid Death when it really is a death due to heart failure etc. Yes, and itās well known that there have been only a scant 9,000 Pure COVID deaths. The other 200k? Well, they sneezed their heads off. A big sneeze, and their heads just rolled right off. Except for those who tried to stifle their sneezes. In those cases their heads just exploded. Brains everywhere. Ewww. All these idiotic, arrogant doctors, scientists and epidemiologists. Who needs those eggheads?

The CDC website provides total deaths every month. The amount we are up over last year is about 200,000. There's your Covid impact. If you don't want to download spreadsheets just scroll to the chart. Case closed. Let's get back to talking Aztecs please. www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/excess_deaths.htm

www.sandiegouniontribune.com/sports/aztecsI was able to read the Aztecs pages after deleting the cache and cookies. However, it seems this option is no longer working. Solution besides subscribing for the 8-week or 1-year digital access? If you care about the Aztecs, suggest you subscribe to online version for a couple of bucks. Or, refrain from demonstrating that youāre a cheap ass. I mean , I can only share so much with AM dolts. š

Personally, if somebody is going to post a link to a behind the wall site, they should either summarize it (not quote it), or keep it to themselves.

i wonder when we are going tocrack down on heart disease and cancer like we have for Covid? Perhaps when those two afflictions are determined to be contagious? Until then - apples to oranges We already do "crack down" on heart disease and cancer. A few examples: - Cigarettes, which are known carcinogens are highly regulated and come with their own You-will-die-if-you-use-this-product warning.
- Carcinogens like asbestos and hundreds of other materials/chemicals have been banned from use around humans.
- The EPA has spent billions cleaning up carcinogenic pollution in our rivers, landfills and air.
- Alcohol, a known carcinogen and contributor to obesity and heart disease, is highly regulated.
- New programs are being developed to encourage healthy eating and to discourage consumption of fast food, sugary drinks, etc., in order to address the obesity epidemic in this country, which is a major contributor to heart disease.
I could go on, but you get the point.

would guess that Brady and the staff would like to keep most things in house for now . also the Padres are making major news both locally and nationally - although that could change any day now.

I could go on, but you get the point. aware of all those preventative measures. encouraging cooperation is different than, oh shutting down the Public School system. None of the measures you mention compare to the steps we have taken for covid. i.e. shutting down the economy. and i would argue that Obesity, Cigarettes, are contagious behaviors. smoking for instance is a very social activity. Can i walk into a grocery store without a mask? or can i pay may way to abuse by forking over a "sin tax?"
