Also doesn't change the fact that in the fall of an election year, a new Justice has never been confirmed. Ever. Have you noticed that Democrats have suddenly gone quiet on the idea of stuffing the court, adding states, and threatening riots? It turns out the ideas you expressed earlier in this thread make people nervous. Biden is supposed to be running on a platform of 'A Return to Normalcy'. Even Americans who vote Democrat don't like when Democrat politicians act like toddlers and terrorists. You should try sticking to decisions or expressed ideology made by the specific nominee being considered rather than threats and tantrums over what the Constitution says should be done paired with who the electorate put in the positions to carry out those duties. And you should try putting principles and common sense over ludicrous comparisons, thinking that Democrats are in any way comparable to mass murderers like Mao and Stalin. Notice how you can't argue the point? So you deflect. The point remains, however. And no matter how many times you parrot the latest Fox narrative, it doesn't make it any more accurate, true or noteworthy. It's just propaganda. |

Democrats are absolutely using identity politics as their cudgel to increase their power. Marxists/Leninists did the very same thing (See Oppressed/Oppressor) and we know how that turned out. They are playing with fire (see the attempted assassination of the police in Compton, for example) but then claim that their morality and compassion compels them to continue such a dangerous path to power (it for our own good, don't you know).

Of course they are comparable. They're all people. They have heights, and blood types, and hair colors. Mao, Stalin, and Democrats have ideologies. As ptsdthor just pointed out, there is significant overlap in those ideologies. It is easy to compare Mao, Stalin, and Democrats. Feeling melancholy and the number Pi aren't comparable. That said, do you still think Democrats should seek revenge on their political opponents like Stalin or Mao would for fulfilling their Constitutionally prescribed duty of filling a vacant Supreme Court seat? |

As a registered Libertarian, I do not respect most of the GOP, but fear the Democratic Party. The latter is currently dominated by people who ...
(a) think they know better than the opposition, and ...
(B) believe that the opposition is not just wrong on the issues but evil, and ...
(C) therefore believe that using the police power of the state to compel the opposition to get in line is totally justified.

AzWm Addressing A - You could say this about any political entity in human history, without fail. Addressing B - Let's count the ways the GOP has betrayed the public trust. You had multiple elected officials on the record say that they knew Trump was guilty of the charges brought against him, yet didn't want to "go through the process" of removing a sitting president. They essentially traded the health and safety of their constituents for a sociopath. Bowing down to the president's whim for fear of retribution has left the party as nothing more than sheep to their shepherd. It's not even a stretch to declare the party "evil" given the actions (or lack of in some cases) taken. |
