This looks awesome! Can't get it built fast enough. Amazing how much everything looks these days and how much it has trans formed since I was at State. I can't imagine the changes since the horse and buggy that AzTex took to school. 😁

I can't imagine the changes since the horse and buggy that AzTex took to school. 😁 I would have loved to have a horse and buggy for the trips from the chemistry building (and later he business administration building) on the East side of campus over to Peterson Gym, by way of the bottomless pit at the open end of Aztec Bowl and then back again with back to back to back classes.
Sadly horses hadn't been invented yet. sigh

See, that was your mistake. All of the science stuff was on the east side. All of the humanities were on the west side. HS building and West Commons were a stone’s throw from Aztec Bowl and Petersen, and was a great area in which to hide out and avoid going to class. The only better place to be was Scripps Cottage, where I leaned all kinds of games of chance and managed to learn about real math by calculating my losses. I also learned about aero dynamics by wasting the day playing ping pong in the open air. I’m telling you, liberal arts, like Western Airlines, was “the only way to fly.” If only the Quaff Barrel had had more dime beer days.

Clearly not, as evidenced by countless dollars lost in Vegas on MBB parlays

But the trip from the English building or the West Commons over to Peterson was the worst part of the trip. Even now when I go to Viejas I shudder looking at the mountain I used to climb up and down to make that trip.

Even now when I go to Viejas I shudder looking at the mountain I used to climb up and down to make that trip. Yeah, the hill was tough. But after my badmitten class with George Zigginfuss it was all downhill as I sought refuge on the patio grass at HS, for my nap.

That's a big hill to trudge up and down. I used to do it on my bike. Ugh.

That's a big hill to trudge up and down. I used to do it on my bike. Ugh. Yep, I went the bike route some of the time too. Cross campus that way was pretty good. Had to walk it down the steps on the West side of the West Commons and back up the hill to Peterson. At least coming back from Peterson I could ride down the hill. But dragging it up the steps was no fun.
Thank goodness I was young in those days.
