He was a dominant force on both the OL and DL for Capitol Christian HS last year. I believe he even made second team all area on both teams as a junior. Capitol Christian had a good team, however they cut their sports programs, due to budgetary reasons this last Spring. Gonebure will play his senior season at Rocklin HS, much closer to his home, this year. Rocklin has a very good football program. With Gonebure at Rocklin, they will have three 300 pound defensive tackles.

My dream for the SDSU program was to have multiple 300 pounders on the DL, looks like Hoke and I have the same dream. Unfortunately, big DT's are at a premium and all it would take is one P5 offer and he's gone. Oldie Out

Do they have good feet, quickness? I like talented guys in the 270 range — Keyshon Banks, Cameron Thomas are very good and use their lack of bulk to their advantage. One of our strengths this year.

Big, heavy and slow is not a great combo on D. Big, heavy and agile is a great combo, but those guys tend to be 4* + recruits. If this kid is quick at his size he'll be a steal, or maybe he sheds some baby fat and becomes dominant? We can hope.

Funny to think we would like to get a few and this high school team has three. Hell, I don’t think we had anyone close to 300 lbs when I was in high school nor did we play anyone that was 300 lbs. Then again, I think gas was less than a dollar a gallon and my grandma use to make me stand next to the TV and hold the rabbit ears antenna so she could watch her tv. Oh and the remote control was ME!
