...is about to become a VERY rich man. Apparently he and the Dodgers are in the process of finalizing a 13-year, $380 million contract. I wonder if the contract will still allow him to bowl, as he has become a pretty good player on the lanes as well.

During the Padres game, the crawl at the bottom of the screen said the contract was 12 years, but only $365 mil. I hope Mookie can get by.

More goodies regarding Betts.
He will be paid until 2044.
2021-22, he gets 17.5 mil each season. 2023, he gets 20 mil. 2024-27, he gets 25 mil/season 2028-30, he gets 30 mil/season 2031-32, he gets 27.5 mil/season. But...from 2021-25, 8 mil is deferred each year; 2026-27, it's 10 mil deferred/year; and from 2028-32, 11 mil deferred each year. He will be paid the deferred monies starting in 2033 (8 mil each of the first 5 years, 10 mil each of the next 2, and 11 mil for each of the last 5 years. The deferred monies start rolling in for Betts on Bobby Bonilla Day (July 1st) in 2033.
His bonus will be paid in installments until 2035.
