I’m not sure why we’re spending so much time on him here.

We have to get Mehdi Cheriet involved with the recruitment.

Who was that dark haired woman that was always at the games with Medhi ? His Mom ? Doesn't matter but I always wondered.

Offered by the Aztecs 4/24/2020, in the Transfer Portal today. 4-star 6'11 PF from France. The redshirt freshman only appeared in three games this season – all in the month of November – playing six total minutes. He did not score in a Crimson Tide uniform, but he did pull down four rebounds this season. Tchikou did not play in 2020-21 due to a ruptured Achilles tendon. HE was a Top 50 Player (Top 10 PF) as a HS Senior at Dream City Christian in Arizona.

Aztecs have been adding more players from Various countries lately
So take it he would have 3 years to play ?
Would add it would be nice if Basketball allowed guys to play maybe 6 or 7 games and still red shirt the season similar to football -

Either 3 or 4 years left, doesn't matter. It all comes down to his talent, development, and mostly health & athleticism recovering from the big injury

Aztecs need Xfers that are good enough to start next year, not projects coming off terrible injuries.

It would seem like he might have four years left although it might require a medical year petition. Anyways I would definitely have interest and the coaches are very familiar with him. Seems like an interesting candidate who would consider us seriously. If Nate leaves then it becomes more of a need.

Our biggest need right now is an experienced big man who can start. We should know probably by next week if Mensah fills that need.
That gives you 3 spots left. We absolutely need a point guard. Two spots left. If Arop comes back that's one spot left. If Dinwiddie comes back that's zero spots left.
In order to take on a project who won't contribute next year you have to hope Arop and/or Dinwiddie don't come back. If you want them to come back you have no room for any other guys than a center and a point guard who can start next year.

I still think that, even if Nate doesn't come back, a PG is still our #1 priority over a big man. We only have ONE PG on the roster right now, and that's two too few...

Believe the transfer "game " transfer puts his name in the Portal
As in the past Aztec coaches reach out to see if the transfer has any interest in SDSU
If so think the Aztec coaches try to do as much deep dive as they can about the transfer
If the coaches think he would be of some interest take it the coaches talk about if they would like the transfer to visit or ??
Am not sure if there are X amount of visits allowed by a transfer and if the school has an amount
Key element is the amount of interest the transfer has ( should we add do they want to play Aztec defense ) and the coaches
Not sure if the transfer list has grown to and how many more there will be after this weekend .
For transfers would guess now adays they try to find as true of an opinion from a current or former Aztec player as they can . Coaches do the same with fellow coaches and players .
For the most part the transfer has the leverage as to where they want to go
Most guesses are for the Aztecs a PG and then it depends on Nathan - although Dutcher has said he has learned you need close to 3 bigs to contend in conference and OOC/MM

Seems to me if NM, Arop and Dinwiddie come back or stay we will still have 1 roster spot? Still need a PG/combo n a big/5. Gotta find one more scorer. Think Bradley could/should play the 2.

is a shame that the Aztecs lost both KD and Che so only Lamont is left from that recruiting class
Wish things had worked out for either or both of those guys
Che never went to another school - so he is in the Portal also
