This is a terrible hill to die on. I'm sure you know that, but the president openly suggested what amounts to organ damage and serious health complications. Ultraviolet light, injecting disinfectant....I wish I could say it was on par with hydroxychloroquine, but it's sadly worse. Here is some truth though from some people in the know : The U.S. is woefully behind in testing, specifically the antibody tests. We simply don't have enough information on how this virus operates, how long immunity lasts, how many antibodies it takes to get to a range of immunity, etc. This is going to be a slow and tedious process where states like Georgia will pay the price of opening up early. This wave will likely result in 100,000+ deaths. Agree somewhat here. But the President was not suggesting to go out and drink or injest "Lysol" or "bleach" as some have misrepresented. He suggested injecting it. Which is reckless, dangerous and obviously has no medical efficacy whatsoever. People will likely be unintelligent enough to do it, so it's highly inappropriate. His work should be focused on expanding testing capabilities and uniting states, not being the second coming of Doctor Oz. The medicine and science behind this virus is utterly complex and nuanced. This is a novel virus, so the information battle we are fighting is almost as important as the scientific one. I fear what's going on behind the scenes with Dr. Bright being fired is a major detriment right now.

Okay Fox, he didn't give a brand name. How about you name a disinfectant which kills the virus which is safe to inject into the human body?

At this current moment in time, I'm not sure we see college football in the fall or professional baseball in 2020. I think there are still significant hurdles to clear with regards to administering tests, sequestering players, locations and a host of other logistical issues across multiple sports. Patience is going to be needed over the next several months, as there's just so much work to be done. A national response and rollout strategy is lacking at this point, which is a major deficit for those who are looking towards "normal." I don't expect sports to be back to "normal" anytime soon. It will be gradual. I'm not ready to sit with thousands of people yet. Not even hundreds at a Charger game. đ But I have to ask, do people really think the U.S. or the world are going to have the capability of testing everyone? If that's what people think, it's going to be a long long long time before anything gets back to "normal." And that will be worse than the virus.

Okay Fox, he didn't give a brand name. How about you name a disinfectant which kills the virus which is safe to inject into the human body? Well, finally someone got part of it right. But the President didn't give any name brands or was suggesting for people to go to the store and inject themselves with any disinfectants. He was talking about a medical standpoint. Big difference and more twisting from the left. And I quoted NBC not FOX.

The bottom line is the president needs to keep his mouth closed when it comes to matters of medicine. Lives are at stake.

The United States needs to be testing roughly 3x more people weekly than currently. The fact we are capping around 145-155,000 tests daily shows what deficit we are operating at. But testing for the virus and antibody/serology is just one piece of a larger puzzle. With states operating from a political perspective, rather than a science based one, you're going to see rolling peaks and damage done that could have been mitigated with better leadership in place.

This thing has forced pretty much everyone everywhere to rethink how they live life. Practical people know that a vaccine will help, but is months and months away and will not eradicate. I know some really, really smart people who are on social media staying things like, "when this is all over it will go down as a low grade flu" and the response from his buddy, "I just don't get the vaccine thing. I got a flu shot years ago, got sick as a dog and haven't had one since, and haven't caught the flu". Like I said, these are very intelligent 60ish dudes.
My point is that if/when a vaccine is available for this thing, you will have some very smart people who will be vaccine deniers. There's definitely a difference in high IQ and street smarts! Few seem to possess both.

There are seemingly intelligent, college-educated people on this planet who are defending suggestions to introduce poisonous chemical agents into the body and/or to stand out in the sunshine with head pointed skyward, mouth agape, so that the UV light can work its magic? Seriously? Why don't we just revert back to shamanism from the Middle Ages, where people ran around wearing bird-beak masks, waving smoldering bundles of herbs, in hopes of warding off the plague?

Look, there's been a lot of ridiculous information from all sides including health officials. But for someone to claim the President was suggesting to drink or inject Lysol or bleach is complete misrepresentation of what was actually said. Another poster is claiming 5 million deaths in the U.S. if we start to gradually open back up. But we are getting used to it.

I think some of these people are so deep into the cult of Trump that even though they know what he says is completely ridiculous and dangerous they feel they need to defend it or else they are turning their back on him and they canât do that cause everything revolves around âowning the libsâ.

It was a stupid comment but this is a really dumb thing to argue about. If anyone actually would try injecting Lysol into their bloodstream then let Darwin do its thing. This isn't a very big deal, other than make him look pretty foolish

"Listen to an agenda." Actually, it's called listening to the guy's own words. Maybe try to stop watching Fox News 18 hours a day.

Good grief indeed!! Watched the briefing without commentary. It's relatively easy to discern and it's indefensible, really. The use of ultraviolet light inside the body, injecting disinfectant whether "into the skin or in another way"....is not grounded in science.

The President has really soiled the sheets on this. If the President wants to have daily press briefings about the virus, fine. But the more he rambles on, the more he just steps in it. Honestly, he should just have planned remarks on a TelePrompter--maybe daily statistics and stuff--then get out of the way and let the experts answer questions. Plus, IMO, the daily briefings need to be shorter. And if this rant is in the wrong forum, then I apologize.
