These next couple of months we all will experience something that has never happened on our life times, no live sports to watch. As with lots of others watching sports was an escape for me from the troubles that plaque the world. Sports also almost always produced a surprise ending.
I ask my self what do I do to replace the huge hole in my daily life? What do the sports net works do for the huge hole in their programming? I have no answers. If I was king what would I do to keep the masses happy?
Maybe replays of the most exciting games across all sports. Maybe have the viewers vote on which games to replay. But please Networks limit the talking heads they only make it more depressing.
Any other Kings out there that have ideas on how to make the masses happy? Would love to read some ideas from other sports junkies.

Anza-Borrego just got 2 inches of rain yesterday. In a couple weeks it will be a great time to explore the local deserts. Torrey Pines will look great a after this rain. Just a simple hike solo in the local wild lands and open spaces can do wonders for the soul.

So here I am on AM board, bored?? missing out on sports, the Madness, etc. planning to watch our team make some noise in the tournament this year. So now? Am I that much of a loser. Possibly. After all it is only a game. Time to catch up on other aspects of my life. So carry on all you Aztecs out there. No matter how bad things seem, it could always be worse and be thankful for everything we have.

Netflix should be pretty popular now. If you're a movie goer, the tube is your only option. I find it hard to believe that supposedly only about 6% of the US population are sports fans.

Actually, this happens twice EVERY year in this country: The day before and the day after the MLB All-Star Game. just think of it as an extension of those days...

Is there a recording of the "Fog Bowl?" I'd like to hear that. Memories.

I admit... I woke up with a racing heart overnight. It's all a bit much. I've stayed off news feeds all day, and even limited coming here. I've reached my saturation point of actionable information, and feel we've done what we can in our household -- just plan on just making smart moves until this calms down. In the meantime, I'm watching college lectures on-line (Civil War by Yale Online, National Geographic's "Geology of the National Parks" on Great Courses, if you need to know), and getting into the books given at xmas.
But sports is the great outlet, and I'm going with a combo of meaningless games from 25 years ago (Watched/listened to Vin Scully and Ross Porter call Dodgers at Expos from 1995, next is Padres-Phillies with Coleman and Leitner on YouTube), Rose Bowl games (YouTube), and stuff I completely missed (I was camping during the big "comeback" Super Bowl between the Falcons and Patriots 3 years ago). Sports is a massive part of my "normal".
Btw, Chris Gwynn, if you are trolling here... Can you lay out the story of why an umpire chucked a baseball into the dugout and hit you in the knee during a forfeited game by the Dodgers all those years ago? Porter sketched it out only very briefly.

Ever thought about reading a book? Great answer! That's what I am doing. Reading about the Civil War in the memoirs & selected letters of U.S Grant. He gives me an eye witness report of what really happened during those years in a very interesting, factual book. You could also go camping, hiking, biking, horse riding, take up painting, play chess with someone. Your limit is just your imagination!
