it would be a dis-service to remove or move this thread. however the personal attacks should go. we in a state of National Crisis. let's get back to the seriousness of the matter at hand. 6605 is the latest numbers as 10am est. that would be a 1k gain in less than 24hrs. The virus it seems kills quickly. in fact it might kill so quickly that in many countries these deaths are going to be lost in the shuffle and never counted. There's been a lot personal attacks from both sides. But liberals only cry when it goes against them. What's next? Is someone going to get sucker punched for supporting the President? Divided we are indeed. And I don't believe what's happening in The United States of America is what our forefathers had in mind when they implemented freedom of the press into the first amendment. Thomas Jefferson currently rolling in his grave.

I don't want to quote anybody in this thread, so as to keep the responses open to whomever. I am a registered independent, and wish there was a third party called the "Common Sense and Deductive Reasoning" party. But, alas, here we are! While some media outlets, both print and TV, are easily identifiable as to which way they swing, some hide it better than others. So, my question is this to all who think they are being duped by the media, whether it be Fox News or CNN or MSNBC, where can I find unbiased, unfettered news? Pretty effing hard if you ask me. To add to this - There are plenty of brilliant people in the medical field who are worth listening to. Dr. Angela Rasmussen, along with several other epidemiologists and virologists. Those are the people everyone should be listening to because they are on the forefront of battling this disease. There's a wonderful database from the Covid Tracking Project that you can follow along with as well.

When I saw Jared Kushner show up at the press conference yesterday, I knew everything is going to be okay for the country. You can't make up the $#!+ President Imbecile and his circle of clowns do. You honestly just can't.

But when health officials including Dr Fauci, the media and government officials were telling people the risk were low in the beginning, it was hard for a lot of people to take it seriously. Just a month ago most people in my state were making jokes. Kids were going to spring break. Why??

Some states do not report hospitalizations, some don't factor in nursing home deaths to their totals. This is, however, an insane amount of work to compile every state with a dashboard total to give the people an estimate as to tbe scope of how big this really is.

I don't want to get dragged back into this with you, but Dr. Fauci has been the one person who has not downplayed this, in spite of the administration trying to do so at nearly every press conference in March. He's directly and immediately contradicted the president on several occasions as to the need for social distancing, the fallacy of reopening the economy, the true magnitude of what we are facing as a society with massive disconnect in the supply chain.

That's weird!! And I am making stuff up right? www.usatoday.com/story/news/health/2020/02/17/nih-disease-official-anthony-fauci-risk-of-coronavirus-in-u-s-is-minuscule-skip-mask-and-wash-hands/4787209002/

More of a clickbait headline. The actual article itself is more indicative of the truth. Hoarding masks is a terrible idea at this point, way too many irresponsible people out there.

Did you read the entire article where Fauci is being quoted? Obviously not. So now the USA Today is lying. Unreal!! Just more deflection as usual. Here's another one. www.mynews13.com/fl/orlando/news/2020/02/15/disease-expert--flu-a-bigger-risk-in-the-us-than-coronavirusGonna deny this one too? I wanna here from the other people attacking me for saying the misinformation in the beginning was all over the place. Sure, you people are posting what's being said now, but seem to be suffering from short term memory loss.

He was wrong in February about the risks being minimal, far too general in the sense or conveying information to the public at large. Since the implementation of the task force (his presence on it), he's been the voice of reason. Pandemics are fluid from day to day, which is why there is so much variability in the models. Fortunately, as more information has evolved and data has been compiled, he's countered the ridiculousness of the rest of the administration.

It's dated February 15th, so the same statements apply. He was incorrect in February. He has been the opposite of that since March began, when this started in earnest.
