UNLV just curb stomped them 80-56 three days before they beat us. Not in CSU's house. Just where exactly do you think the MWCT is being played?

UNLV will be a load and the team nobody is gonna wanna play in the tournament. They got everybody healthy and running on all cylinders, especially at home. Gotta find a way to slow down their fast starts in first half.

UNLV could be one of the hot teams coming into the MW T and get to play on their home court
think if they win their last game and we beat Nevada they could climb to #3 seed and would play USU in the semi's
USU is also playing very well so that could be a very good game

Highly unlikely that a three way tie for 2nd will happen. Utah State has the Lobos at home and the Lobos are in a death spiral. If there is three way tie, I would assume it would go to the Rebels as they beat us.

So does it look as though UNLV will be the #4 seed , play #5 seed - Aztecs play winner of the # 8 vs # 9 seed ( AFA Vs Lobos or Fresno )
That could set up Aztecs Vs UNLV ( on their home court with their New Coach ) on Friday
UNLV could be on a very good winning streak with excited home court fans

Nevada wins the head to head tie-breaker vs UNLV as they swept them...I don't know what happens if USU loses to create a 3 way tie for 2nd/3rd place. Highly unlikely that a three way tie for 2nd will happen. Utah State has the Lobos at home and the Lobos are in a death spiral. If there is three way tie, I would assume it would go to the Rebels as they beat us. Not that it'll happen, and not sure how a 3-way tiebreaker works, but I believe they start with their records against each other. USU & Nevada are both 2-1 & UNLV is 1-3 when looking at their match-ups. Not sure what step 2 would be, but USU owns the head-2-head with Nevada. If they skip to record at top, and UNLV would still be alive, then they would move up. But I think the odds of USU losing to NM is zero to none, even if NM started the game with 10 extra points.

UNLV could come into the Semi- Finals ( #4 seed ) of the MW T with 6 wins in a row -
Have New better coach and get to play at their home arena - in front of an excited fan base - could be very different then previous years
Guess they would play BSU or CSU in their Thursday game ?
Think we play winner of AFA / Number 8 seed Lobos or Fresno - winner - for our Thursday game

Like I said in another thread after the UNLV loss. Other conference foes have probably run the tape/disc (whatever) of the UNLV game over and over to the point of wearing it out just to get the details down on how to play and beat the Aztec team. And, if they are smart will be using the same system when they play us (possibly in the MW Tournament), or in the case of Nevada in the upcoming final game in Reno Saturday. So, of course, the assumption being made here is that Dutcher & staff don't know this, and won't be making compensating adjustments to counter the adjustments made by our opponents... Why are you assuming that? I am only stating what may be happening, not what is happening. If, I were a competing coach you can bet I would be wearing out the tape showing my team how UNLV played us! But, of course it does help if you have a very athletic & physical team in order to play that way. And, yes I'm sure Dutcher is well aware that he needs to make sure his team is ready to handle teams like that again in order to avoid future losses. He is a very good coach, and he would not be that good if he didn't take what UNLV did to them into account. Not, many teams in the MW are like UNLV and playing that way might be difficult for them. But, anything they can accomplish from seeing that may help them.

First, unlv won in 2007 and 2008. Second, unlv had only 9000+ for the Boise State game.

You are correct that UNLV only had 9000+ for the Boise game on Wednesday, but there was a Golden Knights game at the same time. VGK sells out every game. When going against each other, UNLV will lose out on that battle. In any case, I'd love to see an Aztec/Rebel III.

I watched UNLV dismantle Boise St., and they built their lead on the Broncos up to 27 points. They won by 10, but Boise looked like a racehorse with only three legs vs. the Runnin' Rebels! This UNLV team is very dangerous, and is getting better each game they play. They were making lay-ups like they were going out of style against the Broncos!

This UNLV team is very dangerous, and is getting better each game they play. They were making lay-ups like they were going out of style against the Broncos! I’m not afraid of UNLV. This is what it took for us to loose to them by 3: - The most missed open layups I have seen all season
- The most missed 3s I have seen all season. Some of this UNLV defense gets some credit but not all.
- The worse FT shooting all season. Especially Wetzel.
- Schakel fouling out which is impactful if you lose by 3 with possibly best 3 point shooter on the bench
- Potentially Flynns worse game of the season
- A real poor percentage of 50/50 balls going through the hoop. Was there seran wrap covering it up? seemed like it at times.
- Wetzle in foul jeopardy.
- Wetzel’s worst game of the season
- Unlv FT shooting to finish out that game was exceptional. Props, but unlikely that happens again.
- A couple of bad calls. Wetzel going up under the hoop and having arms hit being perhaps the worse. i think they got back court right but think they got Flynn out of bounds wrong. I did not watch the recording to verify my views. Not saying it was a terrible job, but on such a close game even a few questionable calls against us can be very impactful (more so if we could hit our FT)
This is not going to happen again. However, I remember thinking the same about Jimmer’s 3 point shooting and he had a repeat performance. So I amend to very unlikely it will happen again.
USU scares me more.

would agree USU has a very good team and playing very well now - especially if Q is on his game and so is Merrill
But UNLV will be coming on strong with their new coach and fans really hoping for a victory
Hope AG is able to help on defense with others
Will need a strong game from our big three Yanni, Matt and Malachi -
