Yanni is just a man among boys today. I have to give kudos to Arop and Pulliam as well. I do have to say, if we want to run the table in the conference we need either Nolan or Joel to give us quality minutes. Preferably both. Yes, against better teams Yanni will need more help than: Nolan: DNP. Nathan: DNP. Joel: 3 minutes, 0 points, 2 fouls (one flagrant), 2 rebounds, with a team-worst -4 plus/minus. yes, this is my main concern going forward. in the NCAA , we will face teams that have absolute beasts on the front line. Yanni can't do it by himself. I would like to see those guys get more minutes going forward..just to get them ready.

He was definitely available... He got up and looked like he was going in when they gave Yanni a breather in the first half, but must have changed their minds and sent in Joel instead. So, it's not an injury issue. It's possible that with his internship he might have had to miss some practice time, so Joel got the call over him there. Please, if I here one more excuse about his internship....Hell, it's for commercial real estate - he's not out saving the world.... I'm just curious if he's hurt again or under the weather..... Real estate or whatever... if his responsibilities with that internship cause him to miss practice time, it's going to affect his readiness for the game that week. It's not an excuse... it's a bloody fact! You can be as upset as you like, it's not going to change the fact that a lot of the decisions for who goes in and for how long depend on time spent in practice and how well they perform during that practice.

been watching (sort of) espn the last couple of hours. did I miss them mentioning that the #7 undefeated team in the nation is now 19-0? or are west coast Aztecs still being ignored? We are deplorable to the world of NCAA basketball.
They hate us. We don't care.

Can't be bagging on a student-athlete for putting his priorities into a commercial real estate internship. Wasn't that what the UT article was about? He's thinking about his future.
Real Estate 4 Life, baby!

Maybe the realtors could cut him some slack so that he can finish his SDSU basketball career over the next couple of months...

Best to just not respond to mean-spirited, selfish and classless posts that insult a player or the coaching staff.

I've been a commercial financier, investor and/or lender for over 30 years.....No commercial brokerage firm whether based in Hong Kong, New York City or San Diego is going to jeopardize a kid's opportunity to contribute to a once in a lifetime experience (playing for an undefeated collegiate team) in lieu of organizing applications, running credit or reviewing escrow terms.....

As I understand it, his internship was over the summer.

I don't think anyone hates us. We are just insignificant to them.

Is it possible that because Nevada’s big were so bad that Dutcher just decided to go with the smaller lineup?

Is it possible that because Nevada’s big were so bad that Dutcher just decided to go with the smaller lineup? Yes, but I would like to see a bit fewer minutes from the starters. Only Mitchell and Feagin had fewer than 32 and both had some foul issues that took them off the court.

But that officiating was so weird last night(Higgins is the only one I recognized)I feel that was just very unusual to have both Feagin and Mitchell pick up two each early in the first half.

Maybe Dutcher didn't like the match up with NN. He did go small near the last part of the 2nd half. Playing a lot of minutes at home in front of a screaming crowd can do wonders for energy levels.
