Watching the UNLV/UNM game right now. UNLV is looking pretty good. Too bad their early season record was poor, they are not going to be an easy team to beat though UNM really fell apart in the second half. New Mexico look like they quit. They gave up 99 points today after giving up 105 against CSU - ouch. Yeah, they did look like they gave up which is a bad sign for them after being drubbed so badly at CSU. But UNLV is better than their record and are improving. Very athletic though can be out of control sometimes. Defensively they are not on par with us however.

Louisville cruising at Cameron Indoor. This is crazy, but I think if Duke goes 0-2 this week, Gonzaga loses to BYU tonight, and we take care of business... Aztecs will have the highest rank in school history on Monday at #3. Go Cards and go Cougars (yuck) I don't think we pass Kansas. But I won't be upset if we do.

It's really easy these days to find the Aztecs score on ESPN's site. Pops right up on the first page.

Ok, I already know I am going to take flack for saying this...but I cannot understand why so many people leave when there is 2 or 3 minutes left in the game, to me it seems disrespectful to the players who give us a 100 % effort. I bring my binoculars to the game primarily so I can see Dutch drawing up plays during the time outs. The last time out came with a little over 3 minus left in the game. I saw both Malachi and Mitchell ( soaked in sweat ) look over at the parade of fans that were leaving to get that 3 minute head start and just shake their heads.

People don't want to get stuck in the parking structures or just miss the trolley and have to wait 30 minutes for the next one, so they leave a few minutes early. Sometimes they watch from the top and then rush out the door. It sucks, but I get it.

You can't control how the bandwagon rolls. The real fans are in the stands until the final buzzer - regardless of what is likely to follow in this thread.

Guess I should have been more specific. For that matter, I wouldn't be surprised if Kansas passed us in the coaches poll, as they won both of their games this week on the road.

Crazy stat of the day: 6 losses from Top 10 teams this week. Most in a week for the Top 10 since poll started in 1946. Good week to be an Aztec.

It’s such a great feeling to look at the top 25 scores to see who we need to lose and then realize, wait we are # freaking four in the country! Go Aztecs!

#24 Rutgers @ #19 Iowa - Hawkeyes need to hold serve at home
Providence @ #10 Seton Hall - SH is a team many now think can keep winning and move up near us.
North Carolina @ Virginia Tech - not exactly important but I just love seeing those cheating Tar Heels lose so much this year
Creighton @ DePaul - Creighton is #34 NET, DePaul #52. This would be another Q1 Win for Creighton
Fresno State @ Colorado State - if Fresno State wins some games, our Q3 win there turns into a Q2
UNLV @ Nevada - Sophie's Choice game: if UNLV wins, their NET stays below #135 and a win there Sunday would be a Q2 instead of Q3- if Nevada wins, we have a 2-game lead in conference (I vote for UNLV loss)

Same for UNLV, if you think Nevada can get above #75 the. We want Nevada, if not then we want UNLV...

UNLV only has 1 loss in conference but they still have to play us, Nevada and Col State twice, New Mexico there, Utah State, Fresno and Boise. That's 10 reasonably tough games.

If UNLV beats Nevada on the road Wednesday sets up a battle for first place this Sunday . Think we have some difficult games coming up and having the injuries/ illness of Nathan and AG - things could get sticky - if Yanni or even Matt get in foul trouble .

We are about to learn how it's gonna be. Teams will start to attack our Big to foul him out. Yanni's good, and they'll look to neutralize him.
