In MWC conference play, tonight:
Colorado State took a big bite out of New Mexico, in Fort Collins, 105-72;
Boise State lost to Air Force, on the road, 78-85; and
at the half, San Jose State is giving host UNLV a dog fight, with UNLV leading 38-32.

Cant believe that I am thinking about this stuff, but if I'm not mistaken, #3, #4, and #5 have all lost this week. If Aztecs win Saturday, they could move up to #4 on AP, and #3 on Coach polls. If true, and we continue to go undefeated, we could be sent out of the Western Region to take the lofty #1 Seed in another Region (Midwest?), unless Gonzaga loses. Perhaps it's better to stay #2, and stay in Western Region with Gonzaga as the #1?

With the NET, it seems like so many games every day can make a difference to rankings, seedings and expectations. That's a VERY far cry from hoping we win 3 or 4 games at the MWC Tournament to slip into MM. I love it!!!!! |
