Oregon lost at Oregon State by 10 (a bad loss) and UCLA beat Arizona at Arizona (also a bad loss). Wins over Oregon and Arizona were highlighted by the NCAA as to why Gonzaga was ranked higher than SDSU (as opposed to SDSU's victories over Iowa and Creighton).

Arizona was #8 and Oregon #19 in NET before the losses.
Creighton #21 BYU #22 Iowa #30. We shall see.

Arizona only drops three places in the NET from #8 to #11, despite getting beat at home by a bad UCLA team. Oregon goes from #19 to #25. Creighton up to #22, BYU #23 and Iowa #28.

Creighton and BYU actually both dropped one spot despite winning because although Oregon fell below them, Texas Tech and Kentucky wins moved them ahead of both! |

I am worried about a potential match up with Utah St in the MWC tourney....it’s tough to beat any team 3 times in a season. They will be hungry and have 2 prior games to figure the Aztecs out. But if Aztec shots keep falling, they are a tough out. 1. The "tough to beat a team 3 times in a season" has relevance at the beginning of the season when both teams are 0-0. Once one team has beaten the other twice the odds of them also winning a third game increases, as it can be inferred that they are, in fact, the superior team, especially since one of those wins came in the other team's house. 2. USU has seen/played us twice. And we've seen/played them twice. Both teams would be going into game 3 with additional info and scouting. It's a push. 3. A key factor to consider is that it's likely that if we meet a 3rd time, it would be in the championship game, as they're likely to be either the 2 or 3 seed. That would mean the third game in three days. From watching Queta and how his legs/knees seem late in games, I seriously doubt he would be in very good shape after two hard fought games leading into it. Merrill's ankle also factors into the fatigue/nagging injury equation. Should we meet them again, I like our chances. You raise valid points! |

#5 Louisville getting clobbered by (12-12) Clemson at the half, 31-14.
Wyoming beating Col State at the half 37-29.
#19 Butler lost to Georgetown 73-66.
#24 Texas Tech lost to Oklahoma State 73-70.
#25 LSU losing to (13-11) Alabama 40-29 at the half.

think we would have preferred that Texas Tech had won - could have made Iowa and Creighton's wins over them even better
USU wins again last two on the road - they could be a strong contender for #2 seed in MW -also improves our win AT USU - they could very strong as they go into MW T

UM was #40 in NET as of this morning, #30 Iowa could jump into NET Top 25...

Creighton over Marquette last night at Marquette was another quality win for Creighton. They could be fighting to get into the top 10 soon. They have Butler coming to their house on Sunday.
