As much as I love SDSU, I hope we lose the next three games in a convincing manner. We need something drastic to happen to change the program and maybe then even Rocky realizes it's time to go and take his friend Jeff with him.

The basketball team looks pretty good this year. Forget football, time to focus on basketball.

We run a spread but I never see RPO (run pass option). Agnew is a better runner then passer but a never see a play where he options off the D-end. I think it would have worked really well against Nevada's D-end on our left side.
Maybe one of the up coming QB's will have enough arm strength to throw a 7 yard out.
On Agnew's interception he looked at Chase the entire time, Chase was open right away, but Chase never looked at Agnew. When you run that wheel play in the red zone it needs to thrown when the back is first open. You can't wait like you could if you were at midfield. They probably run it that way in practice, never saw Chase look back until he was at the end zone. JMO

But, We lost 5 of out last 6 games last year including the bowel game blow out embarrassment. Nothing changed. I now believe Rocky is a dinosaur headed to being a fossil. He reminds me of my stubborn, close minded 80 year old mother - who I love dearly. I owe her so much- but there a lot of things she should no longer do, and much of coping with the world has passed her by. To me, that is now clearly and painfully evident about Rocky. The players deserve a chance to have better.

How would you like to have a coach like this? www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCQUutpZNoEMinnesota is now 9-0 after beating #4 Penn State today. I was in Minneapolis watching them destroy Nebraska live a few weeks ago. What a coach. Love me some PJ Fleck. We can only dream. There guys out there like him. Our administration is probably to clueless and stupid to find them

In the post game press conference Rocky again essentially said he doesn't know what's wrong with the offense and if he did, he'd fix it. I like Rocky and think he is good man and a good coach but can he really be that stupid? Can he really not see what so many other people see? Loyalty to Horton is one thing but this is stupidly insane! I have wanted Horton to go every since the Armed Forces Bowl when the running game was crushing Army and going in for a score to put the game away he called a pass play that was intercepted and allowed Army to come back and win. Haven't we heard this from him before? Action speaks louder than words.

I care next to nothing about public interviews. What is said behind closed doors is what's important, and we won't know what those conversations are like until we see whether or not Horton is kept or fired at the end of the season.

Let's put it this way. After that disastrous finish last year he said he was going to change the offense, yet last night proved nothing has changed. If he wanted offensive changes he should have changed the personnel. Not the pseudo playbook. He probably wouldn't have to defend the lack of offense in the press conference had he done so.

Horton has no feel for the game, imo. Your point about the army game is spot on. Army could not stop Penny. If if we run the ball 3 times and kick the field goal, we are up 10 and we are in a great position. But Horton tries to get cute and it costs us.

In once sentence Rocky says the loss is on the coaches, then the new sentence he says players win the game. Don't coaches put players in a position to win the game?

Anot her dumb thing Rocky does is that when we win the coin toss, he always has us receiving the ball. This despite the fact the offense is notoriously slow sarting. I think we should kick and rely on the defense to hold ans give a good field position.

It makes no sense, and gives the other team the advantage. If you've got a great, effective, efficient offense then it might make some sense (make the other team play from behind), but with this offense it only gives the other team the advantage.

However, others have mentioned it, and I suspect it's true, there will be no changes unless Rocky initiates them. Except for the hiring of Hoke, we've had of string of the most pusillanimous administrators in the MWC. Instead of "No Risk, No Reward", they chant, "No Risk, No Problem."

I've been on the fence with Horton for the 1st couple of years. We has some losses even with Penny & Pumphry that I partly blamed on Horton because he refused to do anything other than run run run even though we were getting stuffed and couldn't score. Then last year happened and It was becoming quit clear. They switched to spread formation and a more mobile QB with some designed option and might see an improvement... Same Result. At this point, a new OC is needed. A lot of OC's are the QB coach, but it is time to let a new OC come and decide who to keep and who to replace. First- this is NOT a "Spread" Offense- the formation appears to resemble yet the style and tactics of plays is not. Same plays, different formation. Second-O line is horrific. Third-No running game, no surprises, stack the box (only team that didn't was UCLA) and you can call our plays from the stands. Forth-Agree, Horton needs to go.

I noticed in today’s U-T Horton was wondering if he has to simplify the offense. So we’ll change to the single wing and only have to decide which way to run, left or right.

There have been decades since when I started watching the Aztecs in 1962, where the fans hoped for a winning season. The most consistent thing that I have seen is that when we start changing coaches, we end up with thinking a winning season is good. It started with Gilbert.

On #1, NO, definitely not spread offense just formation. I has hoped they would take advantage of Agnew's running abilities, but other than a few draws, nothing. Worst part is, they had 2 weeks to work on the offense. All we got was essentially Horton admitting in the UT that he doesn't know how to be an effective leader and communicate with his staff and players. Horton isn't a system builder/organizer like an OC should be. Doesn't understand how to use his weapons and attack a D at it's weak spots. He is simply a guy that picks a play off a card, and not a very good one at that.

And then Horton, AKA Flounder, takes too long to pick the play and sends it in late, often necessitating the burning of time out. Also, this doesn't happen in vacuum. The players are aware of it and I bet Horton's fecklessness is leading to crises of confidence and execution. Flounder's got to go.
