on who? I looked at the play-by-play and it was CSU's Brenden Fulton. With all the calls against the Aztecs I assumed the worst.

Good win. Rocky haters......give it a rest for a week. There aren't many Rocky haters. Horton haters? Yeah, but not Rocky haters. Not anymore. Not in several years. Because Rocky is a VERY good coach. voted? Is that a challenge for u know who?

We should be favored in all our games until we meet Fresno state. Hopefully our offense and special teams get much better by then. We had a whole quarter to work on our offense (the 3rd) and Horton goes ultra-conservative. This drives me nuts because these are lost opportunities to get better on offense and to develop some rhythm. Frustrating to say the least. And aren't we supposed to keep the D off the field, by O eating minutes?

In he last 2 games the punt return unit has been given penalties that have flipped the field not in our favor. I think the penalty number is 5. That is ridiculous, the coach needs to do a better job, a lot better. We have had a couple of good returns wiped out and poor field position inside the 15 yd. line. Man, so miss Bobby Hauck. He made our special teams a VERY dangerous weapon.

Yes, I think Hauck would be a good replacement when Rocky hangs it up.

This. It’s easy to blame Horton, but it’s hard to ignore agnews limitations while at the time bashing hortons play calling. Both Horton AND Agnew are less than good. Neither of them are flat out awful, just below average. Below average coaching from the offensive staff and below average QB play makes it a lot harder for the team to win. The defense is carrying this team. Looking at the stats, The offense is even worse than I thought. We have scored the second fewest points in the conference, 101, compared to Nevada's 99. Fresno, with 1 fewer game and against arguably a tougher schedule (including USC, Minnesota and AFA) has scored 7 more points~ And we have yet to play a good defense. By way of comparison, Colorado State has allowed the most points in the conference, 219, albeit in 6 games. Rocky vowed to fix the offense, and I believed him, and it may indeed turn out that way..... On the other hand, it's possible that rather than improving, the offense regresses with worse numbers than last year. Then what? It's too bad, because this defense is really fun to watch and it could be a special year if not for the Offense. Even mediocre offense would make us an MWC juggernaut, but our O is flat awful AT THIS POINT. We'll see what happens the rest of the way. IMO, however, we DESPERATELY need to get some minutes for whoever is the heir apparent, or this continues next year.

fair Maybe Schmidt is better and the scheme is making him look not so great. The WRs are getting open, sometimes wide open... there is a lot of room to get them the ball and Agnew is doing a pretty good job of getting them the ball... Or, maybe Schmidt is doing his job and our OL just isn't very talented. Who here thinks we have really good athletes (aside from Ismael) playing there? Two years ago, Rocky stated we were going to have an amazing O-Line right about now. Can't recall his exact quote, but it was gushing. The only person not on the roster who was supposed to be is, if I'm not mistaken, Tyler Roemer. Did one guy's departure alone wreck the line? Because if not, inductive reasoning might seem to suggest Rocky can't judge talent? It would also explain the issues finding a good quarterback when PLENTY have slipped under the radar. And THAT would be problematic IF TRUE. For the record, I am not claiming that it's true. I really don't know. Maybe someone smarter or better informed could deduce that.

Yes, two years ago Rocky said the OL was very young but talented, and that in 2 years the OL would be very good. As the previous writer has stated only Roemer has left. ( I guess Popo also graduated) So either Rocky was wrong in his his assessment or the coaching has not developed the OL ! I don't know what the answer is. I think part of it is that the OL is not as bad as it seems because the play calling is so predictable the opposing defense has an advantage. I tried to keep count last Sat and I think out of 20 first down plays 16 were runs.

I do think that most of us thought that Gudino would be a force by now, but he seems stunted by his injuries. Or, maybe there is more to it than that. I really don't know. If he had progressed the way most predicted, then Ismael would still be at RG and they would be a force. Also, not sure what to make of Capra, except that maybe he's out of position. He got PT at Oregon, so I don't think it's a misjudgment of talent there. Thomas going out with the ACL tear was another unexpected blow.

The line looked better when an almost healthy Washington ran the ball last week.
