Possibly, but apparently the prosecutor used a novel interpretation of the law in this case. In fact, he switched from his first charge when it looked like that wouldn't work.
We should see whether an appeal is successful.

Politically motivated bull$#!+. The conviction will be overturned. Money laundering refers to a financial transaction scheme that aims to conceal the identity, source, and destination of illicitly-obtained money. The money laundering process can be broken down into three stages. First, the illegal activity that garners the money places it in the launderer’s hands. Second, the launderer passes the money through a complex scheme of transactions to obscure who initially received the money from the criminal enterprise. Third, the scheme returns the money to the launderer in an obscure and indirect way.topics.law.cornell.edu/wex/money_launderingAnyone with even half a brain, which admittedly excludes 99% of Dumbocrat Leftards, can see what this is.

This kind of stuff is really petty. He pulled some campaign finance election shenanigans. Small potatoes compared with what Soros is doing to the country or what Dodd and Frank did with the entire finance system of the country. Get a life!

Tom Delay is not my favorite guy. I remember him as an absolutely and utterly ruthless conservative. He had better stay away from floor bound soap in the correctional facility. . . .him being such a good and well costumed dancer and all.
That said, I cannot believe that he will get much jail time.

Then I assume that you believe all the jurors were "Dumbocrat Leftards". Or is it that you do not believe in jury trials? Perhaps you think that everyone should just ask you what the truth is and we should see that as "revealed truth" All Hail the Omniscient AFAN! ;D

Ed, missed your Charles Rangel conviction thread, since his charges were much more serious ... must have been buried in the political forum...

Ed, missed your Charles Rangel conviction thread, since his charges were much more serious ... must have been buried in the political forum... I leave that to the cons to post. More serious? Criminal conviction? If that happens, I will depend on you to keep me informed, Stu.
