I think we have found another good WR. This guy came out of nowhere and played great today.

someone get the kid a better number Nah...Keep it. That's a jersey number given to leftovers/walk-ons. So when he beats a defender, they'll know a walk-on just used him

Matthews looked like that possession receiver that occasionally makes big catches. He's consistent. I love his game.
With him and Smith out there we've addressed our WR position - and it is now a position of strength.

Seems IMO that the weak running game has a little to do with a gimpy J. Wash. They might want to shut him down, up to and including the rest of the season if necessary, to get him fully healed; could probably get a medical redshirt if so inclined. Currently, he's doing us and himself no favors. Just my opinion.

It should be pointed out that he entered the program in the same class as JR Justice a four star receiver from St Augustine. Remember how excited we all were over his commitment?

This kid is working to earn a scholarship. While some of the others with scholarships (and media hype) are half-assing it.
Not cool.
Oldie Out

He shares #45 as well, not even his own number.

Will they be able to maintain production when bumps and bruises kick in? Attrition always happens. Oldie Out

So he's quite a threat. He can make the tough catches, run good routes, and he's got quickness. A week ago it seemed like we didn't have a single top level receiver, and now it looks like we've got two.

Big step forward in the vertical game....step backward in the ground game. Odd to see.

I'm not sure why Washington was in there, he definitely looked slowed by the ankle injury. The only thing I can think of is that the other backs have been prone to fumble and they were trying to avoid that at all costs.

I'm not sure why Washington was in there, he definitely looked slowed by the ankle injury. The only thing I can think of is that the other backs have been prone to fumble and they were trying to avoid that at all costs. In the UT, Rocky said Washington was in at the end of the game because he's the "most dependable with the ball in his hands." He also said Washington is a veteran who understands the importance of not turning the ball over since, at that stage of the game, a turnover is the only thing that would change the outcome.
