Spoke with JR Tolver and he said Noah is already the best prospect on the team. He said prospect so Noah still has development to do but will be a great quarterback if given the chance. Tolver talked to Horton but I cant reveal that. My humble opinion is Noah is given the chance to stay at QB. Usually a black QB gets a short leash and gets moved to another position if success isn't successful right away. I trust Tolvers opinion. He's a die hard and of course our radio announcer.

All qb’s are given are fair shake nowadays. In today’s competitive climate, if you don’t put the best player at each position, you won’t be coaching long. Coaches playing favorites might work at the high school level, but that is it.

What does it matter what color the person is? I don't care what the person looks like, if he's a good QB that is good enough for me. He could be green and from Mars and it still wont matter. Sorry not trying to get on you this morning but we really dont care what color they are as long as they are a good student athlete for us. Go Aztecs!

Not to put words in anyone's mouth but I think he was saying that it's just unfortunately the way it is in most cases in football around the country. I don't think Aztecttcas was saying he cares what color the QB is I'm not sure I agree that it actually is the case in general though. I think in today's age for the most part the best players play at each position to give the team the best chance to win. Coaches are only interested in winning games for their own job security IMO I don't know much about him but from what Tolver & others have said I'm excited about this kid. Apparently he's listed as a dual threat QB, which we haven't seemed to have much of, maybe since Katz? Chapman could run some but I wouldn't really classify him as dual threat since he wasn't all that great of a runner. The best one that comes to mind is Kevin O'Connell. Agnew has some wheels but again, not a dynamic runner

A superb dual threat QB at the HS level who isn't afraid of contact and can be quite elusive when running in space. Smart, good arm strength but will need to work on accuracy, especially under pressure. He should develop into a fine QB assuming they don't move him to WR/DB like most other athletic high school QB's. He should be a good fit in the modified SDSU shotgun/run offense if he picks up the playbook quickly.
Pros: Good feet, good straight line speed, decent arm strength - doesn't have a cannon but can deliver a catchable ball. A gamer. Elusive runner in space.
Cons: Tends to tuck and run too soon. Needs to have the mindset to deliver the ball with his arm, instead of staring at the rush.
Forecast: Will be given QB reps and should develop at his position, if he really wants it. Can be another JR Tolver clone with the tools that he has.
Oldie Out

Agnew has some wheels but again, not a dynamic runner yeah I figured and hoped color is never the case anymore. Katz was ok for us but as you mentioned KOC was the last one who was pretty good. It's a nice option to have a mobile quarterback who can make plays with their feet.

want to make it easier for Noah or any back -have an OL that can dominate the LOS- if not it will be trouble for any QB

Best prospect on the team? In what context? Keep in mind that JR is a Mira Mesa graduate. He may be a little bit of a homer on this one.

This evaluation sounds exactly like Brookshire, who is already enrolled and participated in Spring ball. Believe he worked his way into #2 behind Agnew. He was 1st team all-state JC QB and his team won the championship. His highlite film looked like Noah but he is a few inches taller and seems to have a stronger arm. Believe we will have real competition at QB. Are we hoping to emulate Ohio U as far as an Offensive scheme? By the way, Agnew ran that type of Offense in HS and won a lot of awards.

Frantic, I’m sure you are well aware that JYP long ago passed from this earth. And I’m also sure you must be aware that a good many people on this board have no clue who he is and why you keep referencing his name. The only thing I can figure is you’re trying to be “cute” but it ‘s a waste of time! Thanks.

My bet is that is what he was alluding to, keeping JYP alive on the board

And as noted by randiego, I find it a way to keep JYP's memory alive - he was a solid contributor on this board and its prior iterations going back to the early Zip days.
