He's hitting .221 and has struck out 37% of his At Bats (96 times!!!!) and we're only in the 77th games. I know they probably hope he gets hot and maybe we can unload him but how long can they just keep putting him out there he's hitting .178 with runners in scoring position and .000 with the bases loaded. Reyes was hitting pretty good until he stopped playing so much. he's been terrible as a pinch hitter lately. He needs to play more.

Starting next season, Myers will get $22.5 million from the Padres. And $22.5 million more in 2021. And $22.5 million more in 2022. We are stuck with him for awhile.

They're going to either have to package him in a trade with Yates or eat a bunch of his salary and trade him anyway.

Bases Loaded with 0 outs in the top of the 11th and Myers gets CALLED out on a pitch that was a strike. What a stiff! He's slowly edging down to the Medoza line, now @ .219. Kinsler, the other fading veteran, pops it up right after that. He's down to .220.
Why in the hell haven't they brought back Urias yet? I know he was terrible to start the season but my God, he's hitting .338 at AAA with 17 HRs in 260 ABs! How much longer do they go with Kinsler? I'm sure he's a great "clubhouse guy" but we need someone who can hit.

Pirela and France have better numbers than Urias at AAA (considering the fact that both Pirela and France have only played 60% of the games that Urias has played at AAA).

But he can play 2B and with Garcia getting playing time, there's not so much pressure on him.

Reyes was playing regularly, he was battling a stiff neck last week and the week prior, which is why he was not getting as much action. Or, so I read.

Myers was money in 2016 and 2017. Last year he was just about average or a little above, but I agree this season he has been fairly dismal.

He might have been money in the first halves of 2016 and 2017, but the second half of each season, he was anything BUT money. The second half of all seasons he has been a Padre, he has hit .226 combined. This season, his numbers are equivalent to his normal second half batting--and the second half hasn't even started yet. It would appear that the Padres made a major mistake on this guy.

I think it's time to eat some of his salary and move him. When Frenchy comes back, the logjam in the OF will just get worse. I don't even want to consider getting rid of Frenchy, Renfroe or Reyes.

Is going to be hard to move him w/ that salary, historically the Padres are not the sort of club to eat alot in salary to move a guy. Especially given the investment in Manny and Hosmer.

James Shields, and $31 million, to the White Sox. But then again, that worked out pretty well, as that deal brought a very young prospect who seems to be off on the right foot as an everyday SS in the big leagues.

I didn't mean to imply it never happened - just saying, historically. I'm sure if the return was a prospect they valued they would be open to it. I still think it's a longshot for him to be moved.

Actually, I think this particular ownership group (much more so than any other owner in the club's history) has been more willing to send money along with a player to sweeten the deal, but I'm not really sure how many more times Preller can do that without Fowler and Seidler getting really annoyed at him.

Kinsler started very badly but has since been hitting well.

You're correct. Guess I'm just hoping to get Urias up and get on with getting him some much needed experience while we're still in the mode to compete but not expect to win it all.

Can we please get rid of this guy? I don't care if it is sending him to low A ball or even DFA. Just get rid of him. He is worse than the Three Stooges in one. Will cost us more games than he helps win. Bye bye Willy. Look at tonight Giants game. Shameful.

If they do get another team to take him off of our hands, it's going to cost the Padres many millions.
