Looks like USU might be headed back for Logan after the game today. Da Mutts are controlling the game, and the much ballyhooed guard Sam Merrill hasn't scored a point so far at the halftime break. Could be a long second half for the now down by 12 point, 25-year-olds from Logan.

Game is not over yet, but regardless of the outcome, at least they won a conference title(actually two, share of the regular season and tournament) and made the dance. Something all of us Aztecs fans would gladly trade places with this season if given the chance.

Jr. you beat me to the post. Playing in the post can be hard work! Position always makes the difference if you really want to dominate the boards … (I wanted to work a box out in there, too, but decided enough was enough )

Down a dozen at the half, the Aggies need to up their game to pull this one out!! MGC could be flushed out as 1 and done again!!

I love these posts. It's always a 50/50 prop whether they will stand the test of time: About one hour.

Merrill up to 8 now. Hate to see USU AND Reno shut out after only one game. Maybe they'll find a way, though. They're clawing back.

Utah State loses by 17. MGC ....one and done. Good luck getting two teams into the dance next year.

Queta and Merrill had 21 points between them … Da Mutts did their homework.

Came up short in the big dance, but they don't really have anything to feel bad about. 28 wins, Co regular season conference champs and conference tournament champs and an NCAA Tournament appearance. Something all of us Aztecs fans would gladly trade places with if given the choice.

No crime in losing to Washington. But the lack of athletes in our league is so obvious. Each team has a nice player or two but the supporting casts are not very good. You need big, strong guys that can make plays in traffic. Our x Thames sweet 16 team would have destroyed this league. We had Polee, JJ, and Shrigs coming off the bench! Along with Winston, Josh, Skylar that was crazy athletic team. The coaches in our league better figure out a way to recruit- there is an entire machine working against us.... the media, the P5 conferences, the NCAA. Nobody wants us to be good. Each team needs to be better on the recruiting trail and each school needs to commit more $$

All it takes is for one or two position players to go south, and that's it.

The Syracuse zone is no joke to anyone facing it for the first time or even the 2nd, 3rd or 10th. Never watched Washington play this year, but had I known they played that type of zone effectively, this would have been an easy call - USU methodical and slow, not fast and athletic enough to conquer that zone.

I was pulling for both Reno and USU, but this was without doubt the worst season in the history of the conference, and I'm glad it's over. Good riddance.

The good news is the fake scandal is behind us now. I noticed the players who want to attend sdsu. We will be back. Also, the Nevada and usu ncaa tournament losses prove what happens when players decided the game and not officials. To not even look at the mensah hit in face replay was a slap in the face to all basketball fans.

Their long time coach Stew Morrill was right. They can't sign the good athletic recruits up there. Their new guy Craig Smith seems to be a good coach and got the maximum out of them, but their limited athleticism showed.

Good riddance.I'll withhold using that term until SDSU escapes from the Mountain West Conference. MW is fortunate every league gets 1 team in the tourney, or I would vote zero if on the committee 😬 the fact that we can’t dominate the Mountain goat conference speaks volumes about SDSU basketball. Sad
