The Aztec women stunned new Mexico in ot to advance to the semis against the Wyoming Utah State winner. I arrived with New Mexico leading 49-41 and the lady aztecs dominated the rest of the game.

Wouldnt this be a fairtale ending if both Justin and Stacy won it all in LV. I was for sure thinking JD Wiker had the walking paper for Stacy.. After 6 years of just awful basketball they have been able to put 2 decent games in a row. We are still below .500 and Utah State is a better match up for us.

I brought my daughter to watch them in the their Viejas finale last week against Nevada and they certainly could fill it up from outside. You don't want that as your sole recipe for success, but if it works in Vegas for a 3 or 4 game stretch...

Between 9 and 10 minutes left in fourth period. The lady aztecs were in the 8-9 line until the Nevada win and jumped to the no. 7 seed.

Lobos had a huge advantage at the FT Line but the Aztecs were better from 3.
But the Aztecs won because they were +10 in offensive rebounds and +5 in turnovers. Those 15 extra possessions made the difference. 25 offensive rebounds by the Aztecs.

It may be an urban legend, but in the murky recesses of my brain I vaguely recall seeing video of that postgame press conference. |
