Just don't make same mistakes. I think we have a much better grasp of financial and attendance reality than Colorado State did at this same point...

Just don't make same mistakes. I'm pretty sure they/we won't do that. That is why they were there talking with CSU officials.

There was a woman from Fort Collins at the SDSU Writers Conference a couple of weeks ago who said the CSU stadium was a real PR fiasco. A lot of people there are unhappy with how the whole thing went down.

Annual payments on the bonds sold to finance the stadium’s construction increase from $4.16 million in 2018 to $12.18 million in 2020 through 2055. A tad concerning.

There was a lot opposition from the community and faculty, some say over 50%. Their estimate of donations wasn't achieved and ended up financing a $240 mi bond. Payments ballon from $4 bil to $12 bil over the years. Their revenue for first year exceeded projections and got $39 mil for naming rights so has alieved some in first year but, as newness wears down and bad FB seasons happen revenue subsides could be big problem in years to come. www.sandiegouniontribune.com/sports/sd-sp-aztecs-colorado-state-new-stadium-20181108-story.html

People (like me) who are used to sitting on the 50-yard line will soon be paying for that privilege - or we'll stand in the end zone (and claim those 50-yd line seats like everyone else does right now - after the game starts - LOL)

One thing to b ready for is raise in tix prices. At least double maybe triple. Enjoy it while u can. You probably not to far off. Figure there are 15K season ticket holders, and the average ticket price is about $200 for the season. If you raise that to $300. That will be $1.5M in ticket revenue jut from the season ticket holders. Figure they sell on average another 10K tickets a game at $17 on average, that will be going to $25 per ticket. That will raise another $500K. In essence every 1% increase is $40K 300M Bond at 6% for 30 years is a per annum payment of $21.8M 200M Bond at 6% for 30 years is a per annum payment of $14.5M 150M Bond at 6% for 30 years is a per annum payment of $11.0M To cover that solely with ticket pricing, prices would need to be as follows: 300M - 545% Increase in pricing 200M - 363% Increase in pricing 150M - 275% Increase in pricing Going to need a hell of a lot of donations/naming rights to keep the pricing from skyrocketing.

As a Aztecs Football season ticket holder since 1992 and Chargers season ticket holder with family since 1967 I've never had a problem with SD Stadium, Jack Murphy, the Q or SDCCU as currently called and constructed. However, I won't be paying inflated prices for the privilege of sitting in shiny new seats. I've never understood how the experience would be so enhanced by the seating and other amenities. To me it's always been about the Wins/Losses.

I'm guessing $40-45 min tix and up from there. There will be sky box's, naming rights, concessions and parking.

I'm not all that crazy about the latest design as I will not b able to get endzone seats unless I join the band or stand in what certainly we b a crowded beer garden. I do know that I will b nearing 70 by the time it's open and will not keep all 16 of my season tix.

Don't they have a slush fund to cover those years when profits are short of bond obligations? I just hope Goldman Sachs is not involved with the financing, considering the way Louisville got screwed.

To me it's always been about the Wins/Losses. Have you ever been to an intimate college football stadium? This is a bad example apparently, since everyone on here bashes it... but UNLV's Sam Boyd stadium was awesome to go watch the Vegas bowl when we were in it against Houston a few years ago. It's remarkable how much closer you are to the field in a stadium like that
SDCCU stadium is fine with me because I actually love how there are way too many seats so you can just decide to go last minute with a big group of friends and be fine as far as ticket availability, but we're so far away from the action since it's a multi sport facility.. that's really my only issue with it (plus the jumbo tron and sound system, but I don't really care about those things). Plus from what I've read it's too expensive for SDSU to stay in that stadium long term without the Chargers
