Geez, if they can get Gordon, Ekeler and Allen back in time for the playoffs they could go all the way.

That was quite a game! The Chargers did make a mistake on the two-point conversion. If you're down two touchdowns late and intend to do a two-point conversion to win the game you make that try on your first touchdown. That way if you fail you have a chance on your second touchdown to try again and mitigate the loss. When will coaches ever learn?

The Chiefs still control their own destiny, and could make the Carson Chargers a 5 seed.

The Chargers and the Chiefs, wow!
Like the Padres in '98, one can only wonder how the voting for an NFL stadium would have gone if THIS was the team in San Diego.
This Charger team has one hell of a receiving corps. QB's pretty good too. Like the LA Rams the team appears to have solid leadership for the future, owner aside.
For Chargers fans in San Diego that are smart enough to know both the city and the team blew it, (it became an issue for Papa Spanos the year the voters approved Petco and the city, year after year, after year, did dick to address his concerns), this "one city, one team" bull$#!+ is an even tougher pill to swallow.
But then, SDSU has its own challenges ahead.

Shows how important kickers are now. That said, the Bolts have proven they can win tough on the road, so don't count them out if they do end up the 5.

The voting for an NFL stadium might have been different--IF it had been for an NFL stadium in Mission Valley instead of a convention center annex thingy downtown. That's on the Chargers. And for the Padres--the election was less than 2 weeks after the World Series in 1998. Timing is everything. A general election date during football season doesn't really allow a team to benefit from a great season like the Padres did in 1998, as any NFL team would have been in the middle of the season. Regarding team leadership on the Chargers--you can't separate the coaching staff from ownership, as the ownership group is the same one that allowed the dismantling of the coaching staff after a 14-2 season.

After winning at Pittsburgh and KC, Chargers have to feel confident on the road. Yes, they can be. Especially to the team that is still playing catch-up.
