This really bothers me. Trump should not have the authority to revoke a person's security clearance on a whim and congress should step in and do something about it. This is not a partisan issue. If Trump can do it then so can future presidents of either party. He has even talked of revoking Obama's clearance thereby prohibiting him from receiving the briefings all past presidents receive. As a person who has held a security clearance in the past, having it taken away basically deprives one of a job. Especially in the federal government. Most of the people he has openly threatened are ex employees one, Bruce Ohr, is a current employee. Trump can't fire him directly since he is not a political appointee but removing his clearance effectively does the same thing. This cannot happen in a free society. What is next? Requiring a personal oath of loyalty or requiring one to be a member of a certain political party to receive or keep a security clearance? Sounds like Nazi Germany or the USSR to me.

If Obama can weaponize the intel community against his political enemies with a stroke of a pen (as seen in his Executive Order 12333) and liberals seemingly give a rip, please spare us the BMW (bellyaching, moaning and whining) when Trump uses similar powers enumerated to him. Besides, since Brennan is acting erractically, was profiteering by virtue of his previous office, has no need to know anything classified and would never be used by this Whitehouse for anything, his losing his clearance only helps the Republic, not hurt it.

Lol @ “acting erratically” as a reason disqualification. You do know who the electoral college instilled right? That dude gets daily briefings in crayon. And also lol at using an acronym and then having to explain it right after because you just made it up

Lol @ “acting erratically” as a reason disqualification. You do know who the electoral college instilled right? That dude gets daily briefings in crayon. And also lol at using an acronym and then having to explain it right after because you just made it up From CBS News Ed O'Keefe and Olivia Gazis. "In the case of former CIA directors, the agency "holds" their security clearance and renews it every five years for the rest of their lives. However, that requires former CIA directors to behave like current CIA employees if they want to keep their clearance". So do you think current CIA employees are routine MSNBC contributors and cry "Treason" on TV a regular basis? www.cbsnews.com/news/security-clearances-how-do-they-work/Brennan knew the Russians were messing with our elections since 2014. And what does this dim bulb Brennan do while the Russians are "seal clubbing" his intel agency and tip toeing in and out of the DNC Servers? All he could muster is a weak attempt to frame Trump and friends as cover for his failures. And people should somehow be OK with this level of "service" from such a "patriot"? And then he goes "erratic" (read that...goes to work for MSNBC and brings the CIA's failures to a high-profile stage). That is not what current CIA employees do...especially ones that $crewed the pooch like he did. And as far as intellect goes, I betcha Donald Trump knows how to correctly pronounce "Corpsman" when he sees it on a teleprompter.
