He also plays in the mountain west. I'd like to see what type of numbers these guys would put up against our competition.. No comparison when it comes to the Big 10. We be lucky to be at .500 in that conference. Being undefeated or even 1 loss and this is probably a different story. We would be ranked and have a lot more pull when it comes to awards. Typically awards are given to winners. #5 Wisconsin #12 Penn State #20 Stanford Uh, we beat #20. Mean anything? Nope. Unfortunately it doesn't. We got dominated by a team that was ranked probably somewhere in the 60-70's. That lost hurt us more than what we gained from the win against Stanford. If our only 2 loses right now were against Stanford and Boise, we'd be ranked right now. Losing to bad teams hurts you more than beating good teams. Bit, irregardless of all that, you don't leave the nation's leading rusher out of the finalist list for Top running back award. Just having him there, them calling out his name and his school is a major boost in itself.

I think this is a great idea. I'm sending mine out today. If only we could get a couple thousand people to do it.

Our guys are going to be so motivated, I feel bad for New Mexico. We're going to beat them down and the coaches are going to give Penny 30+ carries

What's the over/under for rushing yards for Penny vs UNM? 250?

What's the over/under for rushing yards for Penny vs UNM? 250? If NM wasn't one of the best rushing D's, possibly.

Puh-leaze, he won a lot more than that A$$hole Lee Corso that torpedoed his Heisman chances! Fishn', we get it - he's #1 in our hearts, a legend, a hall-of-famer. He deserved to win the Heisman. But, what did he actually win? I'm not trying to be a jerk here but seriously, what did he win? MVP of the Pro Bowl his rookie year, and a Super Bowl ring. Oh, and a free trip to Canton, Ohio and a Gold Jacket, that's all! Lee Corso wouldn't know talent if it walked up and bit him in his dumb a$$!

Ok, I see now... ranked #44 in the country, allowing 147 yards/game. (SDSU 11th at 113 yards/game) Updated guess: over/under is 200 yards for Penny.

I would be willing to throw some Pennies at this idea. San Diego States administration and Alumni should throw a seperate award banquet naming Rashaad Penny the best running back in college football. Get the local media involved. Shove it in these biased awards and their committees faces. Make the award a nice big trophy aimed at this biased BS so people will take note. I am getting tired of the "Those teams play in The MWC so screw them" rubbish.
Ideas for the name of the new award?
The Warrior Award
The Real List Award
The Factual Award
I have others that may contain some sensitive language.
Oh yeah, the Aztec Warrior mascot gives out the award. 😉 One stone!!

Well he was the 1st RB to rush for over 100 yards vs. that "vaunted" Miami defense and he did behind a WAC Offensive Line!

You bet the pros won't snub him.... I don't know why everyone is so surprised. ......did you really think the P5's would allow any award to go outside their ranks. They make up the rankings, they control the press. It's their award to themselves. JD Power was a marketing analyst for GM .... wonder who wins that award each year.

Or did he just win the respect of his teammates and coaches? .
