The same question I have every year. Are they going to have the clearance sale and will Aztec Club members get in first? I am not in the Aztec Club.

I hope they do & I hope they give priority to AC membership. You have to give benefits to encourage membership, and it's what keeps the program alive. $8.34/mo. - the cost of about 1 beer or 2 latte's a month these days. |

this could be a trial look for first timers . If they like it they could be back. Do hope Rocky and the AD staff can run this close to a" regular game " white team vs black - rather then the way he has done it the last few years . Make it as exciting as possible from pre -game to the end .

There is a counter argument to letting Aztec Club members in first. Those members probably already have lots of Aztec gear, are already Aztec fans, and already have season tickets to Aztec football. This free event is the opportunity to create more exposure and build a larger fan base. By letting Aztec Club members get the pick of the cheap Aztec gear, they are limiting the exposure they can create by giving more fans the opportunity to show their Aztec pride by getting to wear a $5 t-shirt. A $5 t-shirt on the backs of 5 different Aztec fans is better than an Aztec Club member wearing one and having four other ones in his closet. Aztec Club members get plenty of perks, and deservedly so. They just don't need to get all of the perks. |

Last year, the gear sale was part of the "Fan Appreciation Day" they held on campus. Seems like Aztec Stores does a pretty good job of mixing up where/when these gear events occur.

You have no idea what other people's finances allow for them to do. The Aztecs need to get as many people as possible into the program and not only those that can afford the Aztec Club. Enjoy your free beer and hot dog perks at the pre-game tailgates and let some people that can't afford to pay $20 each at Walmart for an Aztec shirt for their 4 kids have a shot at a $5 t-shirt. |

Understand your point but the Aztec Club is what drives the program and helps cover the critical costs. It is and should be a priority, with members getting as many perks as possible to entice growth wherever possible. It's $8.33 a month. IMO it's better to have nonmembers frustrated because they can't get a t-shirt than someone who donates having the same frustration. The last thing SDSU should do is give people a reason not to donate. Our membership is way, WAY too small as it is. |
