Zags are very good competition - Zach Collins getting to NBA and not even being a starter plus success in MM . So would not count them out . They do have a couple of guys at the 5 . Plus track record for developing 5's. Is there anything out there if he is visiting the Zags? We have Nolan with little experience . But if Kameron could help provide a strong MM run - would make him very valuable for NBA draft . Never know what a recruit values most. Nobody is going to be "developing" Rooks. He'll be a 22-23 year old grad transfer who'll have very little time with a new coaching staff, and he's a player who'll play 15-20 minutes a game in the process. He's 99% "developed". His "development" will depend on how much he works on his game during off hours without any staff. Agree 100% with your last statement. You never know what ANY recruit values the most, which is why I like to deal in absolutes. What we DO know is that we're on his list, he'll be visiting here in early June, and he hasn't made a decision yet, all of which is a positive. This will all play out with him & Bigby-Wiliams over the next 2-3 weeks. It's on THEIR timeline. In the meantime, Nolan's working on building muscle & working on his post game, and right now is our starting 5 IMO. He's definitely more 5 than 4 (his words). Kind of funny how everyone gets excited for a visit and possible signing. We've seen this before, pages and pages of optimism and hope. Only to see the player really is a stiff or not that good, then the BIG letdown. If we sign this guy, I want to see what he can do and reserve judgement.

Rooks has size and experience at the 5 which no other Aztec has. And he played in the Pac 10.
Let's not be throwing him under the bus BEFORE he has even decided where he will be playing. He's better than anything we got!!!

We've had a LOT fewer "stiffs" than most programs, but agree, you never know how a player will perform until he steps between the end lines. That said, even if he is a "stiff" (which I don't think he is) he'd still help our program. We just need a banger to play 15 minutes here & there, and if healthy he can easily fill that role & more so.

Believe J.Williams has decided to go back to the Zags rather then try for NBA . Zags have 1 less scholarship and a starter back down low . Will that matter for Rooks - who knows ?
Transfers - as we have seen some work well and others questionable . As they learn the new system and team mates . Rooks did play in the very competitive PAC - key seems to be is he healthy? , if so he could be important part of the Aztecs for 2017 . IMO good players continue to "develop " their game through out their career, even a couple things from new coaches, players, schemes or outlook on options for them going forward .
Could be a great opportunity for Rooks to be important player or part of decent team . If he helps Aztecs get a decent run in MM ,also improves his future . But if he can even be a solid guy in the middle on D or rebound will be important contributions .

Rooks is the guy we need for next year. If we can land him we will be good to go.

Heard somewhere Rooks was having a second visit to the Mesa today? I think today is the only time he will have visited this off-season?

Wow! A shot at Rooks and Jackson, getting the duo would be sweet and hopefully change some of the "mindset on the Mesa".

correct - very important part of the game board /puzzle for the Aztecs- Rooks to P 5 . We needed a physical guy down low . He with Nolan take care of the 5 position. Enables Malik , Jalen , Max , Teki and Trey or Jordan to take care of the 4 and 3 . So Malik or Jalen do not have to play out of position .
Also great opportunity if Kameron can stay healthy and produce . Could spark some interest from NBA ?
